I LOVED these episode!!!. The thing that happened to me with the strike and all the other shows, is that when they came back were sooo much better that they were in the first place, and with my favorite show ever... didn´t make the same impact to me (and the pre strike episodes, for me were true gold...). But these episode finally step up, and did exactly what i was so afraid... they kill dean!!! and they give him such a gory death!!!... it really shocked me. Even in some level one coud expect that he woud die (and the spoilers were going to that direction) is completly diferent see it with my own eyes...
The thing that makes me more sad, is the fact that even if dean does return (obliously he will... even when kripke was jocking in interviews that jensen was out and that Chad Michael Murray was going to replaice him in the 4th season) now we know for sure that he will never have a happy ending, and will continued to be the eternal martir in the plot, sure, he can go to heaven, but will never LIVE a normal life, never had a chilhood... and now these!!!.... is just so sad destiny for such a great character, but hell, maybe that is what makes dean so great after all.

I really think that dean isn't actually in hell (kripke said that he woudn't do hell because with they budget they coundn't make it justice), so im going with purgatory or a limbo like. But if we see it like hell (it actually looked like he was been already tortured...) could be nice to see ruby (because i think that she will end up in the same place that dean is right now)try to escape with Dean. Just a thoght... :)

Good point, it really could be purgatory or limbo, and I hadn't even thought about Ruby. That would probably change Dean's opinion of her if she helped him escape.... maybe, LOL.

And I agree, I think there are probably no 100% happy endings for the characters in Supernatural. The best we can hope for is that the brothers can live with some little bit of normalcy when this is all over.

The ONLY way I see to get out of this mess, is to utilize the Norse demi-god whom the boys have battled on a couple occassions. He's basically Loki, the norse god of mischief. He can rewrite reality to suit himself. Any deal with another demon will only result in more of the same problems. Any other suggestions?

Well, before the news today, I would have said Ruby might have been able to help. Of course, Krip has already said the Hell/Limbo/Purgatory scenes will take place off camera, so we may find out that Ruby sacrificed herself to help Dean out of where ever he is. That could be part of what haunts him through Season 4.
