'Studio 60' Earns Five Emmy Nominations

Though not nearly as satisfying as nominees for Lead or Supporting Actors/Actresses or Best Drama would be (would be a last thumb of the nose at the network and nay-sayers), Studio 60 did get a few choice Emmy nominations. Go Team!

Guest Actor in a Drama: John Goodman as Judge Robert Bebe in episodes "Nevada Day Parts I & II."

Guest Actor in a Drama: Eli Wallach as Eli Weintraub in episode "The Wrap Party."

Directing Drama: Thomas Schlamme (Tommy!) for episode "Pilot" (Darn tootin'! As much as I loved the whole show, I'd still have to say this was probably still the best of the series).

Casting for a Drama.
(Um, YEAH).

Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series
for episode "Pilot."

Interestingly, the two (well, three) episodes that had guest actor nominations were some of the most harshly criticized on the 'net.

Also, despite the nomination for best casting, the only member of the regular cast to get an acting nomination was Matthew Perry, and that was as the lead in The Ron Clark Story.

The list of nominees for the primetime awards are here. The creative arts awards (like casting and cinematography) are here.

The Emmy ceremony will air on September 16 on your local Fox affiliate.
