"Studio 60" Popular with Musicians

Musicians are seeking out spots as the musical guests on Studio 60. Despite the fact that the 9 million viewers it reaches (by some numbers, and not including the TiVo viewers) is considered unimpressive, 9 million (plus the TiVo viewers) is a great number to reach new potential music customers. More and more groups are coming to Studio 60 (as well as Cold Case, Grey's Anatomy, and the like) to give their new music more exposure. It helps bring publicity to a new, broader audience, and it helps that the programs use the music in new and creative ways. Sting's record company used his appearance to boost sales of his lute album, and Natalie Cole will use her performance on January 29th to give exposure to the Save My Life initiative, for which the song was produced.
