"Office" Stars Helms, Krasinski Have New Movies in the Works

Andy-Dwight.jpgEd Helms is teaming up with Steve Carell on Helms' latest movie project, according to Variety.

The Carell-produced movie will feature Helms as a Civil War re-enactor who goes back into time. I'm hoping this involves a Delorean and the need to reach 88 mph, but I won't hold my breath. Helms co-wrote the movie, according to Variety. Maybe he'll write in a reason for his character to show off some of Helms' sweet banjo skills when he's out on the battleground. It worked in Cold Mountain, after all.

Helms also has "Night at the Museum 2" and "The Hangover" coming out soon.

And that's not all for "The Office" actors moonlighting on the big screen- Variety also reports John Krasinski has another movie in the works. The as-yet untitled comedy includes Krasinski, Meryl Streep, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, which makes Krasinski seem like the kid at the adult's table.

My prediction on his first day of the shoot:
John: "Hey, guys, great to work with all of you. Big fan."
Meryl: "Is the scruffy one talking? Who invited him? Can he bring me some water?"
John: "No, I'm John, the guy from "The Offi..."
Alex: "Meryl, darling, you know Jimmy boy here. He's on that show that's less successful than mine, on NBC. Tina mentioned it to me while we were polishing our Emmys. Good stuff. Jimmy here plays one of the grunts, the nobodies. But he's gonna make it one day."
John: "Thanks? And my name is John. Jim is my char..."
Steve: "I'm a wild and crazy guy!!!"
Meryl: "Ugh."

Krasinski's latest movie, "Away We Go," is set to release this year, following 2008's "Leatherheads."
