Office Fodder

Is an "Office" Spin-Off in the Works?

rwilson.jpgCould Dwight Schrute be the next "Frasier?" He might prefer to be the next Jack Bauer, however, Ben Silverman, the new chairman of NBC, might see a spin-off possibility.

Dwight might not be a favorite around the Dunder-Mifflin office, but with "Office" fans, Rainn Wilson is the number one reason that NBC'S "comedy night" is "done right." Silverman, who was the first thumb to go up on the U.S. version, thinks that popularity might make a new show possible.

At a recent post-Tonys party, Wilson was spilling the beans to Fox news, says Buddy TV.

Say it ain't so! The dynamic of the entire cast is what makes comedic magic. That said, I would certainly tune in to both shows every week (or at least set my TiVo).

Although Wilson seems to be getting his fair share of big-screen work lately ("The Last Mimzy," "Juno"), I would at least recommend that they wait until Steve Carell can no longer handle his mammoth workload.

No word on whether there is actually a spin-off in the works or whether it was just Wilson spouting some party talk. Until further word, you can catch the cast in its entirety every Thursday on NBC. -- Rachel Cericola
