The Office: The Coup

”office-coup.jpg"Monday is movie day at Dunder-Mifflin. After watching a variety of training videos, a medical video and one episode of "Entourage," Michael decided to show movies in half-hour increments. This week's selection is "Varsity Blues." Nothing says Monday like James Van Der Beek!

Angela does not approve of Movie Monday (big surprise) and rats out Michael to Jan. She also goes off on Dwight and says that he should do the same and get control of the office. Dwight knows that Jan has it out for Michael. He claims that if you reject a woman, she will never let it go. He says it's part of a woman's defects -- as well as weak arms.

Jim is involved in his new office's "Call of Duty" LAN party -- although he's pretty crappy at it. In fact, he shoots his own team members. This prompts a meeting with his boss and a co-worker, who informs him that he really wants to kill him.

Pam buys new clothes online. Kellie chants to get her to do a fashion show at lunch. The girls all think she looks hot -- so does Roy. Unfortunately, so does Creed.

Dwight goes to meet Jan at the Liz Claiborne outlet. He considers it part of his job to know that Jan likes to wear Liz Claiborne attire. She informs him "it's officially not."

Dwight tells Jan that he can save the branch if he can run it. He wants to clean house. He also wants to eat a huge breakfast.

Jan, however, rats out Dwight to Michael. Michael responds by offering Dwight M&Ms. He is trying to catch him in the lie that he was only at the dentist. When Michael asks Dwight his dentist's name, he replies "Crentist." That's the type of fast thinking that you'd expect from a good leader!

Michael then informs Dwight (and the rest of the office) that he is being demoted and that Dwight will be the acting manager. No one is happy about that. Eventually, Michael freaks out, admits that the whole thing is a hoax, and causes Dwight to cry and beg for forgiveness.

Michael does forgive, and even offers to "hug it out, bitch" (another nod to "Entourage"). He also makes him stand on his desk with a "LIAR" sign around his neck. Sounds reasonable.

It looks like Jim might be getting over Pam pretty quickly. Does anyone think something will happen between him and his new cute co-worker? -- Rachel Cericola

Crentist ... sounds like ... Dentist?

That line almost killed me. I'm not kidding. I felt an asthma attack coming on.

And Jim, for all his mugging for the camera, knows how to work those ladies. Look at him with that grenade move!
