Mad Men Fodder

Mad Men: Guy Walks into an Advertising Agency - Preview

Sunday night is very important for AMC's acclaimed show Mad Men. Not only are we reaching the midway point of this excellent 3rd season but it airs the same night as the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards where it's up for 16 nominations. It already won an Emmy last week in the unaired Creative Emmys portion for Best Hairstyling.

It may prove to be difficult to follow up last weeks surreal and very trippy episode but the show must move on! There has been a new addition to the Draper household which I'm sure will give Betty the chance to mope around and smoke lots of cigarettes.

The staff of Sterling Cooper is all a flutter as they have to get prepared for a "surprise" visit from the Chairman of the Board of Putnam, Powell and Lowe and gets their 4th of July holiday cancelled. I've said it before but wouldn't it be awesome if the mysterious Chairman turns out to be a woman?

The ever ignored Sally starts feeling spooked by what may or may not be the spirit of Gene. Grandpa Gene not younger brother Gene. Could this be a cry for help or a plea for attention? Maybe her teacher could spend the night. That would make Don very, very happy.

Joan gets some unexpected news that I hope is not her being pregnant. Maybe her doctor/rapist hubby will get hit by a bus. Then she can be roomies with Peggy!

"Guy Walks into an Advertising Agency"
airs Sunday night on AMC at 10pm EST. Make sure you catch it or save it to your DVR and remember to check back here at Mad Men Fodder for my episode review and recap.

I will be posting an abbreviated review this week due to me rooting on the show at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards. Will Mad Men sweep the Emmys like in previous years? It's gotta at least win Best Drama right? Elizabeth Moss better win one as well! The show just wrapped production on the 13th episode season finale this week so the Emmys may prove to be the best wrap party ever.

Need more Mad Men? January Jones and Jon Hamm are appearing on Oprah this Monday, September 21st in a special edition of her show entitled "Oprah Goes Back in Time: The 60s."

Here's a sneak preview of this weeks episode where Lane cancels the staffs day off and announces the Chairman's visit. Enjoy!
