Mad Men Fodder

"Mad Men" Season 3 Premieres Tonight!

Break out those Lucky Strike's and make sure your bar is stocked as the 3rd season of AMC's Mad Men premieres tonight at 10 PM EST.

In what has got to be one of the most anticipated returns of any show in recent history, AMC's brilliant multiple award winning and nominated show gives us a peek into a world that is now completely foreign to us. It's been a long wait for the new season but AMC has never let us forget about it. In a brilliant marketing campaign that started months ago, AMC has partnered with companies like Eight O'Clock Coffee and Banana Republic to give us a clever contest, avatar creators and e-Cards. And in a first for any show, every character is on Twitter. Kudos to AMC and creator Matthew Weiner!

In tonight's premiere titled "Out of Town", Mad Men picks up right where it left off, well sorta. Right off the bat we see more of Don's past and one of the cliffhangers in season 2 is resolved. Get ready to expect a "shocker" every episode this year!

What else can we expect from this episode and season you may ask?
**Spoilers Below**

Contrary to what was previously rumored, there isn't a significant jump in time between the seasons like there was from the 1st and 2nd seasons. I guess there is way too much material to mine in the early sixties. And lots happens tonight.

Sterling Cooper is experiencing it's own British invasion way before The Beatles conquered America. British character actor and current Fringe star, Jared Harris becomes a series regular as the new English boss from Putnam, Powell and Lowe to shake things up while his underling is chasing the secretaries.

Don Draper goes to Baltimore (yes, he's still there!) on a business trip with Sal and let's hope he doesn't pull another disappearing act like he did with Pete in California. Look for Sal to reveal his homosexuality to the man with all the secrets. At least Don won't be gossiping, right?

As for the rest . . . Roger is still being Roger, Peggy is even more ambitious, Pete is unraveling and Joan is positioning herself as the behind the scenes power broker. But what about Betty? This is one of the resolutions from last season. How's that for cryptic?

Regardless, tonight's premiere is long overdue and will be extremely fulfilling. How can this slick and brilliantly written show be anything but?

You can follow me all season long with Mad Men episode reviews and recaps right here on Mad Men Fodder. Feel free to leave any comments or start a discussion about this episode and season below and let me know what you think. Get ready for one heckuva ride!
