Heroes introduces a couple of new heroes/villains in their webisodes. Echo DeMille has the gift of sound - the roar of a lion (I bet he's a Leo!) and the Constrictor looks like that weird albino guy from the Twisted Sister videos (or was it Motley Crue?)

In any case, these webisodes are meant to whet your whistle for the upcoming season of Heroes: Villains but all they only make me long for is the time spent watching them back... Someone find Hiro!

Mo returns to that god awful and depressing apartment of his to find Sylar waiting for him there. Maya is cooking breakfast. She’s excited to meet Mo. Mo is surprised that Maya knows Sylar is a killer (though she doesn’t know how extensive a killer he is.) Once Mo realizes Sylar doesn’t have his powers, he grabs a butter knife, prepared to slather some Jelly Truck goodness on Sylar but alas, Sylar pulls out his utensil – a gun – and aims it at Mo. Bullet trumps Parkay! Maya finally realizes she has been set up and goes all gooey eyed. They all start to feel faint and a cry comes from the other room as Molly comes stumbling out, black goo dripping from her corneas. She stops her deathly curse when she sees Molly. Too bad she can’t focus her energy on one person instead of the whole room. Mo agrees to help Sylar (Lemming!), but says they have to go to his lab first.

Nathan and Matt listen to Ma P as she tells her tale. She helped Adam in the beginning but once she realized Adam wanted to rid the earth of regular people so only the heroes like him survive, she stopped helping him. She tells them that the virus is at the Primatech lab in Odessa, Texas. As Nathan leaves to ready himself for the trip (he has to get his cape from the dry cleaners), Ma P mindmelds with Matt and tells him that if he has to, Matt must stop Peter by killing him, just like Adam – with one bullet to the head. How do they know that will work? It’s not like you can test it...

Peter and Adam are at the Primatech facilities in Texas. Time stops around Peter and he looks around and sees Hiro. Hiro has come to kill Adam. He rushes Peter but blinks away before Peter can send a blast at him. Hiro rushes Adam again and Peter stops him. Hiro blinks away and comes back behind Peter and puts his sword up to Peter’s neck. Peter grabs the blade and shocks it, sending Hiro to the floor unconscious. Time goes back to normal and Adam, surprised, sees his old friend on the ground. He grabs his sword and follows Peter down to the storage facility below. Now, here’s the thing – the handle of the blade is not metal so would Hiro have really been shocked? Wouldn’t the leather of the handle absorb the blast?

Bob takes Elle off field duty much to Elle’s dismay. So eager to please her daddy, she apologizes but Dad won’t listen. Elle goes to see HRG and asks about her past. She pleads with him. She has no one to turn to. He relents and tells her that they wanted to see how much wattage she could put out. She’d pass out from the strain – she was seven at the time. Bob interrupts they bonding moment. Bob has come to tell HRG that he needs HRG’s help with Claire. He’s ready to cut a deal with HRG to shut Claire up.

Claire is getting the info together to spill the beans on The Company. Mom isn’t too happy about it, but Claire, being her pompous teenage self, isn’t listening to Mom and is going to do whatever the hell she wants. Don’t you just want to slap her? Slap the cheerleader, save the world. West comes over and Claire thinks he has come to help but he hasn’t. He likes his anonymity. She gives him his file and he flies off. She turns around and HRG is in the doorway. He has come to explain that her blood saved him but he just cut a deal. He tells Claire he needs to stop her plans to expose the company. He has to go back to work for the company, but that his family would be safe from now on. He leaves, heartbroken.

Niki is frantic about Micah being gone all night. He comes home and tells his mom that they have to save Monica. They go in search of Monica. Monica is in some abandoned building where her abductor is about to set the whole place ablaze. Micah has used his mom’s cell phone to triangulate the position of Monica’s cell phone so they can find her. I would love to have his power to send viruses to those spammers from that President of Nigeria who wants my bank account number to deposit money in!

Down in the cellars of Primatech, Peter and Adam use their powers and prowess to knock out the guards. Peter uses his powers to open the safe where the virus is kept. I’m not sure which power he’s uses but he sure is exerting a lot of energy to open it. I’ve lost track of all the powers he has now.

Over at Mo’s lab, Mo pretends he needs Sylar’s blood to test what strain of the virus he has. Mo has triggered the silent alarm on the lab and is hoping the cavalry will arrive soon.

Elle goes into Daddy’s office and goes to grab her file, but nothing is in there. She punches in Daddy’s password – MIDAS – sees the security cams in the lab. She sees Sylar and sees her chance at glory.

Nathan and Matt arrive in Odessa – Matt on Nathan’s Lear Jet body. That was a comical moment. Matt says they will never speak of this again. Why, I wonder? Did Matt scream like a little girl all the way from New York? Matt tells Nathan that Ma P told him to kill Peter if he came down to it. Hiro comes out and see Nathan and gets all excited.

Mo is surprised Sylar has the same strain of the virus which means someone injected him with it, but who? Maya and Molly are chatting. Molly offers to find Alejandro from Maya so she can know that he is all right. Maya shows her a picture of her brother. Molly tries to locate him, but he’s nowhere on earth which means he’s dead. Furious, Maya realizes that Sylar killed her brother. She’s ready to kill Sylar but he shoots her point blank. Sylar wants Mo to inject Maya with the antidote.

Peter opens the vault but before Adam can enter, Hiro shows up to stop him. Peter uses his powers to throw Hiro up against the wall. Adam enters the vault and Peter makes use of his power against Hiro. Hiro is struggling when Matt comes up from behind Peter and is trying to “convince” him to drop Hiro and go after Adam. Peter ain’t falling for his crap and sends Matt flying down the hall. Nathan comes out of the side door and faces down his own brother. Nathan tells Peter that he has seen Adam’s files and that he tried to release the virus 30 years ago. Peter tells Nathan that Adam was the one that healed him but Nathan realizes that was just a ploy to get to Peter. Save the one they love and they’ll blindly follow. Peter knows his brother and knows he tells the truth. He runs for the vault.

At the same time, Hiro takes his chance and blinks into the vault. He confronts Adam, telling he is not God and that he should have killed him a long time ago. Adam has the vial of the virus in his hand behind his back. Hiro grabs his shoulder and blinks them away, just as Adam drops the vial.

Peter rushes into the vault, pauses time and is able to grab the vial before it hits the ground (I thought those vials were mainly plastic or thick enough glass that the vials would not break...?) Peter grabs the vial and uses his nuclear power to destroy the vial.

Nathan is ready to expose them all to the world. He calls a press conference which takes place in the Odessa Police Department. The security cams are going as they decide what to do.

Mo injects Maya with the antidote and the bullet pops out of her skin. Sylar grabs the rest of the injection just as Elle comes in. Sylar aims his gun at her and fires just as she fires back with a bolt of her own. She sends a nice bolt at Sylar and knocks him down through the glass. She gives chase. Mo realizes he has no antidote for Niki.

Niki and Micah arrive at the scene of the crime. Niki puts the smackdown on the arsonist (her powers really aren’t gone like she told Micah!) as she goes in to save Monica. As they are about to escape, a piece of flaming wood blocks their only escape. Niki uses her strength to lift it so Monica can escape, but she’s stuck in there. The building explodes behind Monica and Micah. Is she dead? If she was in the building when it exploded and she exploded with it, did she inadvertently release the virus? Did her multiple selves come out to save her?

Ando finds Hiro at his cubicle. Ando asks if Hiro killed Kensei. Hiro tells him that Adam can never hurt anyone again. We find Adam in a coffin stuck six feet below in the same cemetery as his mom and dad are interred.

Nathan is about to expose the truth at a press conference at the Odessa Police Station. Before he can tell the world he can fly, he is shot in the chest several times! With the chaos ensuing, the gunman is able to escape. Why? Because I think it was Claude. Or someone else who has the capability of going invisible. Who else could it have been? Maybe Future Peter? But I could have sworn he was blonde – the one that walked away. Given that they were in a police station, you would think the cops would have stopped anybody with a gun who’s not wearing a uniform. Ma P speaks to someone on the phone and says she knows that “it” was unavoidable.

Nathan has Kensei’s blood in him so do you think that means he will regenerate? The ads said “Two heroes will fall.” It didn’t say “Two heroes will die.”

That is the end of Volume Two.

Volume Three: Villains – We see Sylar injecting himself with the antidote like a junkie getting high on meth. Within a few minutes he feels himself going back to “normal”. He uses his powers to pull a spinach can toward him. I’d gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today...! I’m Sylar the Sailor Man! I live in a garbage can! I eat all the worms and spit out the germs, I’m Sylar the Sailor Man!

What was the end of a story arc became a season finale due to the current writer’s strike.

You know Adam isn’t totally gone. Sylar will probably find out about him and save him or Hiro has to retrieve his old buddy for his blood or something.

I also think that Elle will eventually turn on her Emperor dad and help our Han Solo-ish HRG.

Assuming Nathan flies as fast, if not faster, than a jet plane - wouldn't his and Matt's clothes have been ripped to shreds during the flight? And does he offer drink service?

I wonder if the writers read David Eddings because I find a lot of similarities. Burying Adam below the ground like Belgarath did to his Belzedar... Walking through walls like Relg did in the Belgariad series...

Peter is forward into the future and he sees him and Caitlin being dragged off by some HazMat people, but suddenly he’s back in Montreal with Adam. He tells Adam about the Shanti virus. Adam tells him about Victoria Pratt, the scientist who created the virus.

Over at the Bennet home, Goldfinger Bob is looking down the barrel of a gun held by Mrs. Bennet. He’s brought HRG’s ashes to them. He has been cremated without their knowledge due to the specific instructions in his personnel file, he tells them. Yeah, right. Bob tells Claire that due to her father’s wishes that she will be left alone to leave a normal life. Mom tells her kids to pack their bags.

Bob gets in the car and tells Elle to keep an eye on the Bennets.

HRG gets his eye back and it’s Claire’s blood in his system that has regenerated him. So, does this mean he has Claire’s powers or just enough to fix him? Mohinder and he argue as Mohinder gets all high and mighty with the lies he’s been fed. He still thinks he’s doing the greater good.

Micah is telling Monique why St. Joan has to have a superhero identity. He sticks the 9th Wonder comic in his backpack. Niki has come back to see Micah and to give him the bad news about her virus. Micah goes to grab his backpack but it’s gone.

Sylar and Maya are having a glass of wine in this romantic lake setting. He wants Maya to take control of her power so that she doesn’t need her brother to save her every time. He says things to make Maya mad. She goes all black goo on him and Sylar starts to feel the effects. He tries to tell her to control her power. She wheezes and is able to shut off her power. She’s done it! Without the help of her brother. Score one for Sylar.

Hiro and Ando are looking for more info on Adam Monroe/Kensei. They find paperwork that Kaito signed to lock Adam away. Hiro thinks he needs to go back to that point in time to stop his dad. He blinks away, much to Ando’s annoyance.

He blinks back to the Primatech Research Facility where two guards restrain Adam. Kaito goes in to see Victoria. She tells him that Adam was looking for Strain 138. Kaito takes it and promises to store it in the Odessa facility. Victoria doesn’t want to be a part of it and quits, walking out.

Adam and Peter go to Victoria Pratt’s (Joanna Cassidy) house. Peter introduces himself to her and questions her about the virus. She pulls a shotgun on him. He tells her that in 24 hours the Shanti virus is released and in a year 93% of the world’s population dies. Victoria tells Peter that after Kaito was murdered, she knew it was only a matter of time before they came after her. Peter gives her his sob story about Caitlin. He wants to know where he can find the virus so he can stop the pandemic. She tells him where to find it and he goes out to Adam that they can find the virus at the facility in New Mexico. Adam says there is no facility in New Mexico,. but before he can say anymore, he takes a shotgun blast to the chest. Peter tries to explain to Victoria what is going on but she doesn’t care. All she knows is that Peter is working with Adam and he’s as good as dead. She shoots Peter as well. She goes over to Adam who is starting to sit up and tells him that she know the only way he’ll die is to blow off his head. Just as she takes aim, Peter recovers and knocks Victoria out, taking the gun away from her.

In the telenovela of Alejandro and Maya – Maya races back to the motel to tell her brother that she is able to cure herself. Alejandro tells Maya that he googled Gabriel on the internet and finds out that he is a murderer (How does he know this if he doesn’t read English? The printout was from the New York Times). Sylar wants to know what’s wrong. Maya tells him that the article says he killed his mother. He admits to the murder, but gives her the sob story that he was just defending himself. She feels for Gabriel – he knows what she’s been going through. Alejandro wants her to leave with him but Maya makes her choice – she’s going with Gabriel to find Suresh. Alejandro walks out and Maya turns to Gabriel for comfort. The sinister look on Sylar’s face tells all.

Victoria tells Peter that she was trying to stop Adam from releasing the virus, just like she did 30 years ago. She’s not going to tell him where the virus is, but Peter reads her mind. Adam unties her to let her go. She jumps up and grabs her gun, aiming it at Peter. Adam shoots her from behind. Victoria has no powers, she isn’t coming back from the dead. Adam claims he was saving Peter’s life. Furious that he killed her, Peter goes to get the car. Adam takes out her portion of the portrait, uses his blood to draw the Kensei symbol (Was that smart? Can’t they trace the murders back to him with his blood?) and drops the picture next to her.

Micah’s cousins confesses that he took Micah’s backpack to find out how much his comics were worth, but then he got jacked on the street. Micah goes ballistic and starts pounding on his cousin. The reason he wants his backpack so badly is that his dad’s medal of honor was in there. Micah thinks the three of them could be heroes and get his backpack back.

Micah is in his bedroom. Monique comes in and tells him that she’s going to go get his backpack back. Monique sneaks Micah out. They go over to the house in question and Micah turns off the street lights. Monique watches her iPod and learns to scale walls and jump up to the second floor. She does some Jackie Chan maneuvers and gets into the house. Of course, before she can get out, the crew that stole his backpack return home. They catch Monique and take force her into their van. Micah sees the whole thing and takes off for help.

Alejandro confronts Sylar in his room. They fight. Sylar grabs a knife and stabs Alejandro. Maya knocks on the door and being the resourceful one, Sylar wets himself down and goes shirtless as he opens the door, pretending to have been in the shower. Maya eyes the chesty Sylar and kisses him, missing the fact that her brother is dead in Sylar’s room.

Claire is actually hurting. Not from a wound, but from the loss of her father. West’s comes to see her. She finds the chimes that signal The Haitian to come. She wants him to erase all her memories of her dad.

Mohinder has merged Claire’s blood with his and it’s strong enough to save Niki. He confronts Bob about Strain 138. He wants Bob to help him track down all the strains of the virus and destroy them. He calls Niki to tell her the good news and that he’ll be on the next flight out to administer the antidote to her.

Claire is saying goodbye to her dad and to spread his ashes into the sea. Just as she says her final goodbyes, she sees Elle off in the distance, sipping her soda in a car. She races over there. Elle is trying to put the keys in the ignition as she sucks down a Super Big Gulp with her bad arm. She spills the drink and exits the car. Claire shoves Elle against the car. She threatens to spill the beans on the Company.

Mohinder is on the way to the airport. He pulls out package with the antidote and syringe (you think the airlines will let him on the plane with that big ol’ syringe in his carry-on?) He gets a phone call and it’s Sylar. Sylar has “taken care of” the babysitter and is watching over Molly now. He wants Mo to meet him and his new friend.

Adam and Peter go to Primatech’s Odessa facility. Time stops around Peter. He looks around and sees Hiro. Hiro tells Peter that he’s come to kill Adam Monroe but Peter is defending Adam. Hiro tells him that he has chosen the wrong side and charges Peter, who flashes a lightning ball at Hiro...

The Bennett/Butlers are packing up to move. Claire is being defiant and refuses to leave. Dad threatens to duct tape her to the chair but Mom puts the kibosh on the family feud and tells her to say goodbye to her friends and come home.

We’re at Kaito’s funeral and Hiro is expected to speak but he walks away from the podium. Hiro must know the truth and he blinks back to the past – back to the Deveaux Building to the day of his dad’s death a week ago.

Molly and Dad #1 (Matt) are having breakfast. She’s not having any nightmares anymore and Matt is looking at the photo of the Old Regime. She wants to help find them but he won’t let her. He uses his mind to tell Molly to come back and finish her cereal. Molly returns to the table and eats her breakfast. Ah, Matt thinks, a newfound power has emerged.

Mohinder and Bob are in California to get Claire and stop Noah. Bob pairs him up with a new partner, Elle. We find out she’s Bob’s daughter. She the Judge, Judy, and Executioner. “Hey, Fight Club,” she says to Mo and his bandaged nose. “Check this out.” She points her finger, like a gun, and aims it at her drink glass. :::Pop::: she breaks the glass and sets the liquor on fire.

Claire is putting rocks in a field. Gee, it looks like the same field that was once 17th century Japan – minus the fake cherry blossom trees. Claire wants West to forgive her, but he can’t right now. She tells him that her family is leaving town but she’s not going because she’s staying for him. He wants to think and figure things out, so he flies away. We see what she was doing with the rocks. She spelled out “Sorry.”

Matt is on hold with the FBI to find out more about the Kaito Nakamura case. Matt tells him it’s something big. That this group did something back in the 70s. “Like disco?” his boss asks. Matt uses his newfound power to persuade his boss to give him more time to investigate the Petrelli/Nakamura connection.

HRG and Mrs. HRG are looking through some of the Company’s files he has. He finds a picture of West when he was younger. He proceeds to show her the paintings that he recently found, including the one of him shot in the eye with West and Claire in the background.

HRG calls Mohinder and asks him to use Molly to track down West for him. Mohinder tells Bob about HRG’s call. Elle helps Mo with a gun holster. Mo wants to do it his way or the highway. He looks in the mirror and sees almost a mirror image of the painting he saw with HRG in Russia. Elle wants to keep Mo as a pet. She’s a weird one.

He can’t wait around for Mo to call so HRG leaves the house to go to the school to find West. As soon as he leaves the house, West sweeps in and flies off with HRG. West and HRG have a heart to heart 10,000 feet up in the air. They come back down to the ground and HRG pins West to the ground. Mo calls and tells him that West is at Verbena and Palm, but as HRG looks at the street sign – it says Ocean and 4th. They’re not in Costa Verde, they’re in Santa Monica. He looks at West and tells him that he needs his help. Bob comes to talk to Claire in the guise of a worker from the State Board of Education. Once he calls Claire by her real last name, Claire flips and runs for home. Bob, as an adult and smarter than Claire, drives to the Bennett home and arrives before she does...

HRG arrives at Verbena and Palm. Mo gets in the car and pulls a gun on him and tells him to drive. He wants HRG to hand over Claire but hell no! You ain’t taking my little girl, HRG says (or so I imagine).

Claire arrives home and sees the painting. Bob shows up with a gun in his hand. Mrs. HRG sees Bob and recognizes him as the regional sales manager of Primatech.

HRG asks Mo who his partner is. Elle comes around from behind the car and HRG instantly recognizes the hell on wheels (or is it heels?) “You know her?” Mo asks. “Oh yeah,” – Um, dummy – he worked for The Company for how many years? He probably brought Elle in from the get-go!

Elle’s about to blast HRG with a nice blue fireball when West comes flying in and tosses Elle across the car, knocking her out. Mo pulls the gun on HRG who sees the painting of Mo in the same pose. He hits him and takes the gun. “My nose!” Mo cries. “My beautiful nose!” He holds his hands to his nose as HRG is about to shoot him, but West stops him.

They take Elle back to the house and find out that Bob took Claire. West brings an unconscious Elle in over his shoulder, “Hi Mrs. Butler. Good to see you again,” as he walks into the living room with Elle. HRG ties Elle to a chair and puts her feet in a tub of water. HRG sprays Elle with water to wake her, she tries to use her powers to burn through her restraints and inadvertently shocks herself. “Stings like bitch, doesn’t it?” HRG says – Yeah!

HRG calls Bob and tells him, “Touch my daughter and I’ll kill yours.” He tells Bob to meet him at the beach in two hours. This gives Bob plenty of time to draw blood from Claire’s body.

Back on the Deveaux building, Hiro warns his dad of his impending death. He tells him of his adventures with Kensei. Kaito feels it must be his fate. “We have the power of the gods. That does not mean we play God,” Kaito tells his son. Hiro grabs his dad shoulder and blinks them back to the day of Hiro’s mom’s funeral. Kaito wants Hiro to take him back to his fate but Hiro refuses. Like a petulant little boy he starts to run away but knocks into the younger version of himself. They both look at each other and adjust their glasses the same way (too cute!) By talking to himself (so to speak) he realizes he can’t/shouldn’t change the future or the past. He takes his dad back and watches his assailant take his dad over the roof but he stops time. He can let his father meet his fate but it doesn’t mean he can’t know who the killer is. He walks over to the horizontal duo (it looks like George Takei is about to kiss his assailant) and sees Adam Monroe’s face – or Kensei, as Hiro knows him.

Matt comes to question Angela Petrelli. He “persuades” her to tell the truth and she tells him that Adam Monroe has regenerated so much that he stopped his aging process. Angela tells him that Adam killed Kaito. That he’s 400 years old. And he’s pissed that they locked him up and that he wants revenge. He asks about the woman in the photo – the only other one that is alive. He asks her again about the woman in the picture. Angela starts to bleed from her nose and tells him he’s just like his father.

HRG, West and Elle are at the beach. HRG and West are making small talk about boys and their cars. HRG tells West to fly him and Claire out immediately. Bob uncuffs Claire and lets her go. Claire goes to her dad and Elle to hers. West and Claire fly off, but Elle burns through her duct tape and sends a fireball up at the two. It shocks West off kilter and sends them flying to the ground. Claire spins them so that she takes the brunt of the impact. HRG fires a shot off at Elle before she can laser-tag him. His shot hits her in the arm. Bob runs to his daughter. HRG figures that he will always be running but if Bob dies then the Company dies with him. He pulls the gun on Bob. Mo begs for mercy but then lays off a shot at HRG. Just like in the picture. HRG falls to the ground and Claire runs to him, but West blocks her from going to him and flies her off to safety.

West takes her home. Claire tells her mom what happened and she falls to the ground in heartache over her husband’s predetermined death.

Cut to an IV of blood as it drips down. We follow it down to an arm. Pan up and we see HRG with the IV in his arm. His eye regenerates and he gulps in a big breath of air and sits up. “Holy sh*t!” he says. Just like Claire said in Volume One, Chapter Three “One Giant Leap” after she was impaled by the piece of wood from her wayward suitor. Like father like daughter.

MY THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

I do love how the pictures show the future but not the whole truth. It seems like none of the pictures Isaac painted showed the end result – the truth.

I thought Christine Rose did a great job in the interrogation scene with Greg Grunberg. She is an extraordinary actress.

HRG has some of the best lines in this episode, IMO.

“You’ve gone native. Are you kidding me?!” This sounded so odd, yet so funny. I was waiting for the smash cut to Mohinder dressed in Indian war paint, holding a spear.

“Stings like a bitch, doesn’t it?”

“Touch my daughter and I’ll kill yours. Then I’ll kill you.”

Nathan is in Montreal with Adam who gives him a few clues about his past. A picture of Nathan and Peter reminds Peter of what happened four months ago. We’re at Kirby Plaza and Nathan has just taken Peter up in the air to save him. Peter can’t fly because it’s taking all of his power not to explode. Peter makes Nathan let him go. Peter falls away and explodes, the nuclear ripple knocking Nathan unconscious and sending him falling to the earth. Next thing you know, Peter is back, flying toward his brother and catching him. He takes him to the ER and disappears away from prying eyes and an inquisitive cop. Peter is walking down a hospital corridor when Elle comes out of a room and blasts him from behind, sending him to the ground. Bob is with her.

Niki and Micah are waiting at the hospital for word on D.L. The bullet was less than an inch from his heart but he’s going to be fine. Niki goes out to talk to the doctor and promises him they will find a way to pay for the bills but the doctor tells her all the medical expenses have been taken care of... by Goldfinger Bob. He knows about Kirby Plaza and Linderman. He also knows about Jessica and wants to help her. She says she’s finished with Jessica but Bob offers that there may be other personalities that will surface. He wants her to leave her family and join the program with Lindsay Lohan to get better.

Four months ago, in the Dominican Republic, Alejandro is getting married to a woman he’s only known for a few months, much to Maya’s dismay. It’s been the two of them for the longest time, why add a ‘ho’ to the mix? Maya is dancing with her brother and see the bride flirting and laughing with her old boyfriend. Maya later goes off by herself to take a breather. She’s upset and a tear falls from her eye. It’s black and made of goo. She wipes it away, not noticing it. She hears laughter coming from one of the rooms. She enters and sees the bride making out with her old boyfriend. Maya threatens to tell her brother, but the boyfriend tries to get her to shut up by strangling. Wrong move, amigo. Maya goes all gooey eyed and accidentally kills off the bride and her lover. She looks in the mirror and sees her face. When she exits the room she sees all the revelers from the wedding party collapsed on the ground. Everyone’s dead. Maya’s in a panic. All their family and friends are dead. She yells for Alejandro and he’s still alive. Alejandro wants to know what’s going on. Maya runs away.

We find Peter lying on a couch, Elle, toying with his hair. She sends a little shock to him. Bob tells him that he’s an old friend of his parents and they can stop his powers. Elle acts a little obsessive and creepy – touching Peter, toying with his hair. They have shut of his powers – via the Haitian. Bob tells him that 30 years ago they were working on a vaccine to stop people’s powers but the research was shut down. Because of recent circumstances, the research has been started up again.

An extra crispy Nathan lies in a hospital bed. Ma P has come and tells Nathan that Peter is still missing and that the Coast Guard is still searching for him.

Nathan rises his bed up so he can see himself in the mirror. All crunchy and well done.

Peter is in a stark room with Elle who is cutting his hair. She gives him a cocktail of pills to take to suppress his powers. She shocks him before she leaves. Someone says “Hello” from the vent. It’s Adam/Kensei.

It’s Micah’s 11th birthday and he gets a 9th Wonder cake. Micah wants them to be the Fantastic Four minus one and save the world. D.L. has another idea though. He takes Micah bowling because Niki is acting like she should be in an ad for Cymbalta. She’s been given pills by the Company to take, but she dumps them down the drain.

Fast forward two months and Peter is still in the cell next to Adam. Still taking the suppression meds. Elle comes in and wants to play but Peter isn’t in the mood, but he eventually gives in. They place their hands next to, but not touching, each other and she sends him a little shock. He asks about her as he knows nothing about her. She tells him when she was six she accidentally set her grandmother’s house on fire. At eight, she caused a blackout in four counties in Ohio. At nine, she had an IV of lithium in her arm. They called her a sociopath with paranoid delusion and she’s been in the Company’s care for 16 years. She’s 24 now and never been on a date or on a roller coaster. That’s as good as he’s gonna get. She leaves. Adam warns Peter about her. He fell for her tricks six years ago and look where it landed him. Peter believes they are in a facility created to help people like them. Adam points out that they’ve been close to a cure for 30 years and that they are in a prison. Peter doesn’t believe him. Adam tells him to try to leave. Adam is seducing Peter over to the dark side. "Take my hand, Luke... I am your father!"

Peter tells Bob that he wants to see his family but Bob doesn’t allow it. Adam tells him that they are keeping them there because they can save the world. He gives him some sob story but also tells him that he can save his brother with a little bit of his blood. Peter wants to know his plan.

Ma P goes to see Nathan and find him there with his wife. Nathan is trying to tell his wife the truth, but Ma P tells her that there’s a history of delusions of grandeur and paranoia in the Petrelli family. Nathan’s wife and everyone else thinks Nathan was in a fiery car accident. She tells Heidi it needs to be kept secret and can she count on her for that. Looks like Ma P’s powers is the power of persuasion through word. Much like Eden in Season 1 (maybe she was a Petrelli as well?)

Niki is about to start a job as a car salesman. She looks in the mirror and someone speaks to her. She thinks it’s Jessica, but it’s not. It’s another personality named Sybill – no, just kidding. Her name is Gina and she’s a party girl. She takes over and tells Niki she’s going off to California to party.

We see D. L. is a firefighter now as he goes into a burning building to save a little girl. He’s a real hero. When he sees Niki isn’t home yet, he goes into the bedroom and sees a note on the mirror written in lipstick “Gone to L.A. C-ya!” D.L. thinks it’s Jessica again.

Elle comes in to give Peter his meds and turns around to leave. He wants to know if he’s going to get his daily shock from her. She walks over to him and he grabs her and tells her he’s getting to like the shocks and her. He leans over to kiss her. HOT HOT HOT. She shocks his lips as they kiss and she’s excited. He takes his pills and she hugs him from behind. She’s like a lost little girl who has never had any affection in her life. She leaves. Peter spits out the meds. It’s the fifth day of not taking them. Adam tells him to try. Peter is able to put his hands through the wall and walks through to Adam’s side. Adam grabs hold and they walk out of the compound.

Maya takes thee to a nunnery to hide. Alejandro has found her and wants her to come home and face the music. Everyone wants to know how she did. How she poisoned them all. She tells him she didn’t do it. That an evil inside her did (cue alien monster child bursting from her stomach.) Notice how he didn’t die but everyone else did. It has something to do with the two of them. A cop comes in to arrest her. She starts freaking out again and the black goo starts to pour. The cop passes out. Alejandro holds Maya’s hands and tells her to calm down. He absorbs the goo. Realizing she has been telling the truth all along, he tells her they need to run.

Niki/Gina is partying at a club (I guess in L.A.) And lookee, here comes D. L. He’s tracked her down to the ONLY club in Los Angeles. He gets into a fight with the guy she’s dancing with and knocks him to the ground. He hands Niki a picture of the family and Niki returns. D.L. puts his coat on and they leave. But the guy he knocked down isn’t finished with him yet. He puts a gun to D. L.’s chest and fires, blood spattering on Niki’s face. This is how D.L. died, senselessly, not at Linderman’s as we all thought. Why keep the character alive to just have him die senselessly like that. At least kill him off saving a dog in a fire or something, right? Have him die a hero.

Bob comes to D.L.’s wake, passing Monica by with her family. He looks at Niki and she nods. She’s ready to join the program.

Peter and Adam go to the hospital to see Nathan. Adam jams a syringe in his arm and draws out blood (YEAH, RIGHT). He injects it in Nathan’s IV and it immediately heals him. They leave the hospital but Elle and the Haitian are on their tail. Adam gives him the plane ticket and passport that we later find in the box and tells him to meet in Montréal. They split up. Elle throws a bolt at Adam and the Peter, starting his coat on fire. Peter sheds his top and keeps running, the Haitian running after him. Peter jumps a fence, gratuitously shirtless and into a shipping container. The Haitian suppresses Peter’s powers and knocks him around, finally cuffing Peter to the container. He tells Peter that his mother helped him once so he’s going to give him a new life and to go with God. He puts the Kensei symbol necklace around him and takes away his memories.

Ma P comes into Nathan’s room and he turns around to look at her, all dashing with a that awesome sweep of thick hair. She’s shocked. Perhaps she knows who helped her and now she’s scared?

We later go back to present day and Nathan has shown up at the Wandering Rocks pub in Ireland looking for Peter.

MY THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

I’m confused. Is Uhura D.L.’s mom or aunt? Has that been established yet?

Peter lost his powers surpressed because of the Haitian - Does this mean Sylar was affected by the Haitian while he was in the jungle? Maybe he has all his powers now but doesn’t know it?

What brand clothes was Peter wearing that survived a nuclear blast?

I’m guessing Adam is not Pa Petrelli because, of course, Peter would have recognized him and they would have already had the antibodies in their blood, right?

I don’t know about you but I find Maya’s attitude toward Alejandro a bit incestuous.

So is the new theme now - SAVE THE SAMURAI, SAVE THE WORLD?

Missed the ep? Watch it here with commentary from Milo Ventimiglia and Greg Beeman.

Ok – first of all, I got some of Isaac’s paintings wrong. Last week, I said it looked like one painting had Peter with a broken nose throwing a bolt of lightning. Totally wrong there. The painting was of Mohinder with a broken nose holding a gun.

We start the episode off back in the 17th century. Kensei has Hiro over a pot of opium. If he’s high, he can’t transport away in time and space, now can he? Kensei’s evil side has surfaced. He’s no hero. Instead, he’s the baddest villain there is.

But never underestimate a woman! Yaeko picks the lock of her cuffs and knocks away the opium. She needs Hiro to squishy-blink them away before the guard returns. She begs Hiro to concentrate. When the guard returns, there is no one in the tent. Ok, I had a problem with this part. From as much as we know, Hiro can transport others only when he is touching them, right? So how did the swordsmith transport with them? He was still handcuffed sitting in the corner. We never saw him again after he lamented about giving White Beard the ability to make guns. And Hiro’s ability isn’t all that stable, so if he’s high on opium, would they really have just beamed over to the other field? I would have thought they might have beamed over to Living Island with Jimmy and H.R. Pufnstuf!

HRG is looking at the painting of Mo holding a gun. He calls Mo who is sitting with Molly – she’s still unconscious. HRG asks Mo if he has a company issued gun. Mo, acting like HRG’s petulant mistress, whines because he hasn’t heard from HRG and doesn’t know where the hell he is. HRG says the pictures are all random, but aren’t they numbered? And he should pretty much know who each one is in the paintings, right? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think HRG has encountered Hiro yet so he wouldn’t know what to make of that painting, but the ones with Niki and Peter? Mo’s pissed at HRG and speaking loud enough for the whole ward to hear. Come on now, hushed whispers, my man. HRG lights a match and torches the paintings.

Niki tells Mo that Goldfinger Bob wants to see them. They walk down the hall and it looks like everyone is racing toward the exits. Goldfinger Bob is evacuating the building. Parkman and Nathan turn the corner. Parkman tells Mo about finding his dad and that his dad is out to kill Goldfinger Bob next.

Peter and Caitlin find themselves in a post-apocalyptic type New York of the future, summer 2008. The streets of NYC are desolate and we are just waiting for Snake Plissken to arrive so they can Escape from New York. Looks like all of New York has been evacuated by Homeland Security. Suddenly, they are rushed by men in Homer Simpon-esque hazmat suits and are aken away to be decontaminated.

Our next scene with Peter and Cat are in the decontamination showers. Can we point the camera a tad lower on Peter? Yow! This show should be on at 10pm or move it to Skinamax!

Later we see Peter sitting in some sort of room where people have been classified and registered by their last name. Peter sits in the L-Q section. A government-type official (Mark Harelik) tells Peter that according to his files, Peter is dead and shows him his own death certificate. Peter asks about Caitlin and the guy tells him like all foreigners she’s being deported. He wants to know about what’s going on. The guy tells him that in March 2007, the first case of the Shanti virus was reported and no cure has been found. The virus has killed 93% of the world’s population to date and the rest live in quarantine hoping for a cure. He shows Peter a morgue the size of a warehouse filled with body bags. A biohazard sticker is in the corner of the window. This shot of Peter and the sticker is one of Isaac’s paintings.

Claire is awoken with a text message from West who is romancing her with waffles. She’s not too happy that he’s invaded her home and has been so gracious to his mother. Luckily, HRG isn’t home to meet West. West shows Claire the newspaper article about Debbie’s drunken hallucinations. Claire fears the worst. West is relishing in their infamy.

Nathan, Matt, Mo, Niki, and Bob are in Bob’s office. Maury (Matt’s dad) has ditched his car and is close by. Bob wants Mo and Niki to inject Maury with the virus. Mo objects. He will not knowingly inject someone with a virus where they do not know what the repercussions are. Bob tells Matt that he can do what his dad does. His abilities include more than just reading minds.

We find Matt sitting with the comatose Molly, spilling his guts out to her. He tells her he loves her and her monitor registers a blip. He says it again in his mind to her and the blip appears again. Matt knows he can hear her. He smiles.

Niki and Mo walk over to the lab to get the virus. Mo heads into the lab first and Niki is confronted by a dead D.L. who tells her she’s not cured and that she’ll never have the life she wants. If she tells anyone she sees a dead man, people will think she’s crazy again and lock her up. As Mo returns to get her, they both walk down the hall and we see Matt’s dad exit a room they have just passed.

Once they are in the lab to get the virus, Niki is again confronted by the ghost of Xmas past, as D.L. tells her that they’ll take Micah away from her, etc. etc. D. L. tells her that they are just using her. She must eliminate the threat. A shot rings out, killing D.L. The shot is from a gun fired by Goldfinger Bob. Mo stares at Niki who is not holding the dead body that she seems to believe she is holding. He tries to convince her to snap out of it, that it’s probably Maury, but Niki is so spooked, she punches Mo, flinging him across the room. She grabs a filled syringe and leaves.

Nathan is looking at the names on the files on Bob’s bookcase. He recognizes all but Adam Monroe and asks Bob about it. “It’s complicated,” Bob says.

“So uncomplicate it,” Nathan retorts.

It turns out Adam is the one that divided the troops back in the day. Adam is the one trying to kill the old heroes. Maury is just the instrument. Bob tells how Adam had a God complex and Linderman was his disciple. They locked up Adam and threw away the key but he escaped two weeks ago and is killing the old group. Bob tells Nathan that Peter is alive.

One of the surnames Nathan says he recognizes is Pratt. I don’t recall there being a character by that name.

Back to the future, Peter meets up with Ma P, but he doesn’t recognize her. She knows about all his powers and tells him that he can absorb other’s abilities (does this include non-heroic abilities like cooking and sewing?) and that he is the strongest of them all. She tells him that Nathan died in the first wave of the pandemic. She speaks without speaking in his mind and tells him that he needs to remember. He gets flashes of his past and suddenly remembers his mom. Awwwww...

Claire and West are having an oh-so-innocent makeout session. She wants to tell him about her dad. She’s about to break the news to him when HRG returns home. West sees him and is freaked. He thinks HRG has found them and is coming to get them. That’s when Claire spills the beans (Beans, beans the musical fruit – the more you eat, the more you toot!) that HRG is her dad. West doesn’t know what to think, he thinks it’s some sort of trap and flies off.

Hiro is back to his old non-opium self, looking over the army encampment. It seems the tent that smolders is no longer there (Perhaps the CGI budget got a little too hefty.) Yaeko wants them to escape. Hiro says he can’t, not as long as White Beard still has the guns. He must destroy them, even if Kensei is still there. He still has faith in Kensei, that deep down he’s a good man. He tells Yaeko to “meet him under the cherry blossoms” on the ranch northeast of Los Angeles. He blinks away.

It’s night and Hiro blinks himself over to the tent with all the guns and gunpowder. Like a “very special” episode of Little House on the Prairie, Hiro throws gunpowder over the lot and is about to light it with the flame from the lantern. Kensei enters and they fight. He’s pissed because Hiro took his love away. He wants Hiro to kill him, but Hiro still has faith in him. Kensei wants only to punish Hiro. As they fight, Kensei knocks down a lantern which lights up the hay around it. Fire begins to consume the tent. Hiro, in his one session of sword training with his dad, disarms Kensei. Hiro offers his hand so they can escape. Kensei yells, “Never! As long as I have breath, anything you love I will lay to waste. You will suffer.” Hiro sees the flames getting closer to the powder and blinks away to the edge of the encampment just as the tent explodes in a fiery ball. Kensei is dead. (Yeah, right.) Well, at least Hiro believes it to be so, but of course we all know that that would be too easy.

Hiro retrieves Kensei helmet and mask and blinks back to Yaeko. She tells Hiro that it was He who was Kensei and she will perpetuate all the stories of Kensei so that when Hiro is a little boy he’ll have those stories to listen to. Hiro tells her there is one last story of Kensei. One where he fights a dragon and must cut his own heart out to save them all. They kiss their last farewell (did I see Hiro calf lifting up as they kissed?) He steps away from a tearful Yaeko and blinks away.

Over in present day Japan, Ando is doing his best at being a cubicle jockey. He turns away from his computer to grab some papers. When he turns back, Kensei's helmet and mask are sitting on his desk. “I had to bring back a souvenir,” Hiro says from behind him. Hiro wants to see his father and tell them both of the adventures he’s had. Ando has to be the bearer of bad news and tells Hiro that his dad is dead and was murdered.

Bob is showing footage of Peter to Nathan. They lost track of him over in Ireland and Nathan is mad. “How do YOU lose someone?” Before Bob can even answer, there is a bang on the door. Niki is using her Tae-Bo techniques to break down the door. Nathan tries to stop her and wants her to think of Micah. Instead of injecting Bob, Niki slams the syringe into herself. Here’s my question: She claims the Company made her better, but what exactly did they do?

Matt hears the ruckus and thinks it’s his dad. He exits the room he was in (with Molly) and ends up in a bad 70s over-wallpapered apartment. He sees Molly sitting at the table. She tells him this is where the Nightmare Man took her and she can’t leave. She thinks they’re both trapped, but Matt refuses to believe that. He yells for his dad in his mind and his dad appears in the apartment. Maury can’t believe it – did Matt bring him there?

The apartment is set up like the night Maury left Matt as a child, never to return. Maury toys with Matt’s emotions. He tells Matt he loves him but Matt wants his dad to turn himself in. Maury says there’s no prison that can hold him, but Matt disagrees. Matt can trap his dad in his own nightmare just like his dad trapped Molly. The apartment? It was never Matt’s nightmare, it was Maury’s. With that, Matt is able to leave. He wakes up next to Molly, who also awakens. Matt turns to see Maury collapsed on the floor, asleep.

Niki apologizes to Mo about his broken nose. She is getting a transfusion of Mo’s blood, but the antibodies in Mo’s blood aren’t working. The virus has mutated. Mo gives Bob the results of the medical tests. Bob promises to destroy all the vials of the virus. He wants Mo to pick up a new Hero – well, not new to us. It’s Claire. He puts a company-issue gun on the table for Mo. For whatever stupid logic Mo has, Mo confesses to Bob about his underhanded dealings with HRG. Even Bob wonders why he is telling him this. Bob convinces Mo that they must have Claire. Her regenerative powers are key to their future (Save the cheerleader, save the world, anyone?)

Sandra tells her husband, HRG, that Claire has a boyfriend. Daddy is not too happy with this news. As Claire texts West and begs him to call, HRG tosses the article about drunk Debbie on her lap. He’s pissed. All he asked her to do was lay low and what does she do? Anything but. He feels it’s not safe for them anymore and they need to move again. A rebellious Claire disagrees. If he leaves, it’s not going to be with her.

Peter and his Mom are leaving the quarantine area. He sees Caitlin who is being herded away like cattle. She’s begging for him to save her, but they take her away. In his anger and frustration he finds himself back in Montreal where he and Caitlin were. A sound causes him to turn and fire off a lightning bolt. The hand he shoots it at absorbs the bolt and his hand heals. The hand belongs to... Kensei! But these days he’s known as Adam Monroe.

MY THOUGHTS AND COMMENTS:

Did you notice this week’s Heroes logo was in green to commemorate the Green is Universal week?

As we suspected, Kensei is still alive, but now he's known as Adam Monroe - which I'm not sure how many suspected that, if any. More than likely, it was Adam in the picture with the original Justice League. Does that make him Peter and Nathan’s dad? If so, does that mean he faked his death? Is he Elle's dad also?

Do you think Adam will kill Ando out of spite for Hiro? He killed Kaito for that purpose, I believe. Do you think Hiro has it in him to kill his childhood idol? Will Hiro go back in time to save his dad? Will he go back in time to get Yaeko? Will Yaeko appear in the present as someone else (great x many great granddaughter?)

This episode concludes the story arc taking place in feudal Japan. I know most of you are happy about that!

Who is Mo supposedly shooting at in that painting?

What did you think?

Missed the ep? See it here with commentary at NBC.

November 7, 2007 (New York, NY) - Will Hiro get his revenge? What's Niki hiding? Will Claire lose her father? Can Sylar get his powers back? These are the burning questions nagging every fan of NBC's comic-book inspired hit Heroes. This week, TV Guide magazine poses these questions on a series of four illustrated covers, each designed exclusively for the magazine by a different leading comic book artist (in the November 12 issue of TV Guide; on newsstands November 8). Each cover features a different grouping of Heroes characters at the center of the show's most talked-about and pressing mysteries, which will unfold in episodes throughout the month of November.

Exclusive Designs by Comic-Book World's Hottest Animation Artists in TV Guide magazine's November 12 Issue (on newsstands November 8)

Following is a breakdown of the covers:

COVER 1: Will Hiro get his revenge? (Featuring: Hiro, Ando, Kensei by artist Jim Lee)
COVER 2: What's Niki hiding? (Featuring: Niki, Nathan, Matt, Mohinder by artist Phil Jimenez)
COVER 3: Will Claire lose her father? (Featuring: Claire, Elle, Peter, H.R.G by artist Michael Turner)
COVER 4: Can Sylar get his powers back? (Featuring: Sylar, Maya, Monica, Micah by artist Tim Sale)

True mavericks in the field of comic-book illustration, the artists weigh in for TV Guide about their work and the unique challenges they faced in bringing these four dynamic, but each very distinct, covers to life.

    * Lee: "An actor becomes immortal when he's comic book-ified," says Lee, a true comics legend who is currently illustrating DC Comics' All Star Batman & Robin and drew the acclaimed Batman series Hush (written by Heroes co-executive producer Jeph Loeb). "TV shows come and go, but comics are treasured and vacuum-sealed and held on to by collectors forever."
* Jimenez : Known for his drawings of the X-Men and Wonder Woman, Jimenez was particularly tested in his rendering of Ali Larter (Niki). "She's a really beautiful woman without a specific defining feature to grab on to," he says. "She's torturous for an artistbut in a good way."
* Turner: For an artist who specializes in curvaceous babes (see characters in Witchblade, Fathom) it was Milo Ventimiglia (Peter) whom Turner struggled with. "For me, the hardest was drawing Peter because of his new Tom Cruise look. I wish I had his first-season hair to work with. But I also got luckyI was assigned the cheerleader!" he says.
* Sale: Revered worldwide for his hyperdramatic Isaac Mendez paintings on Heroes, Sale was also happy with his particular assignment. "All four of the TV Guide cover artists are comics guys and we agree that we suck at achieving true likenesses, so I felt really fortunate to get Sylar," he says. "Zach Quinto's features are extremethose huge eyebrows, the long face, the big, full lips. He's made for the comics!"

Inside the cover story, TV Guide talks to the show's creator, Tim Kring, and stars and goes behind the scenes during the filming of a key confrontation scene that could end in a prophesied tragedy. Viewers have known for weeks that the clock is ticking on H.R.G. (aka Noah Bennet; Jack Coleman)one of Isaac's paintings shows him lying dead with a bullet hole through his famed horn-rimmed glassesbut will Claire (Hayden Panettiere) really lose her father?

"Every painting we've had on Heroes has come true," says Kring. "But don't forget, sometimes the true meaning of a painting has been misinterpreted." While he is not exactly forthcoming about the outcome, he promises that this episode, "Cautionary Tales" (airing November 19), involves a very real showdown, with gunfire and tears. "The Company has come back to haunt H.R.G. by going after Claire, and this is all about what a father is willing to do about the mess he's created," he says.

Coleman adds that his character is doubly freaked by the painting "because it shows him dead and it looks like Claire is standing near his body kissing a young man who's in shadow. It makes his daughter seem complicit in his death." Is the young man West (Nick D'Agosto), who was once traumatically "bagged and tagged" by H.R.G. as part of the company's tracking system?

D'Agosto says this episode marks "the first time West and H.R.G. have a clash. H.R.G. is furious, and his intention is to find West and keep him from being with Claire." The actor adds that he's only signed with the show for half a season and claims, "I have no idea what happens after that. It's a mystery."

Also in the issue, producers answers such questions posed by fans on TVGuide.com as:

    * Will Mohinder ever have a power?
* Will Hana (Stan Katic ) ever been seen again? What about Claude (Christopher Eccleston)?
* Why didn't Isaac warn H.R.G. about the painting that predicted his death?
* What is Niki's power anyway?
