Heroes: 3.18 - Exposed

Exposed.jpgClaire's mom catches Alex in Claire's room. Claire claims he is her new boyfriend and that they're having sex, but Alex protests. Sandra knows Alex is telling the truth and they confess that Alex has an ability. Claire's mom lets on that she knows more than she lets on. She tells Claire there's a van across the street watching the house. She then proceeds to confiscates Lyle's driver's license and then creates a fake ID for Alex. She tells them she learned how to create a fake ID being a groupie for Def Leppard (Do you wanna rock?!) Even though Alex is about to go on the run, he confesses to Claire that he wouldn't mind a being her boyfriend had circumstances been different.

As Alex changes into some new clothes, the agents come toward the house. Sandra sends Alex into a cubby hole to hide. Claire and Alex escape but have to hide in a pool to escape the agent. Gosh, I didn't see this coming. Claire has to go up for air, but by doing so she'll reveal their location so Alex kisses her to keep her breathing. Hmm... his power isn't technically breathing underwater, then... He can create oxygen out of nothing! Send that kid into space!

Danko has made Matt and Peter (I will give them a Brangelina name like... Matter!) their primary targets - using lethal force as necessary.

Matter are back at Mr. Ee-sock's loft - Matt's painting away. They get a message from Rebel with the location of Daphne. Rebel tells them to get out NOW. They leave just as two agents enter the loft. One of the agents sends a pic of the drawing on the floor to Danko - the one where DC is exploding. Danko thinks he knows where Matter are heading.

Sylar and Luke are still on their road trip when Sylar stops at an abandoned restaurant. He uses one of his powers to remove the wood from the boarded up dive. Sylar has a memory of the past in that diner. It's the day Sylar's dad sold him off and then killed his mom uses the same brain-slicing power Sylar has.

Matter (shall we call them "Matter"?) infiltrate Bldg. 26. Peter borrows Matt's powers and uses The Force to bypass all the security. "These are not the droids you're looking for," Matt says. "You will take me to Danko now," Peter says. "I will take you to Danko now," the guard says. "You serve your master well. You will be rewarded," Peter tells him. :o)
Nathan and Danko see Matter on the security cams. Peter copies some proof that will expose the whole operation. He and Matt try to escape, but Matt is cost. Nathan questions Ma P to see if she's Rebel. She claims she's not. Peter threatens to expose the operation if they don't release Daphne and Matt.

Danko decides to set them up. During the meet, Noah allows Peter to hear his thoughts and lets him know that he's being set up. Peter takes Nathan's power and flies off. (How did Noah know Peter could hear thoughts and also thought he could fly? I assume he thinks Peter still can retain all his powers and doesn't know he can only hold on to one at a time???)

Danko straps a bomb onto Matt and tosses him out in front of the Capitol, which is the same as Matt's drawing on Ee-sock's loft floor.

Claire goes to the kitchen and is surprised by The Puppetmaster who is sent by Rebel with a message that "Claire will save" him.

Did Peter borrow Nathan's power or did Nathan save him?

Nathan saved Pete, no doubt about it. Later, during the little Petrelli family reunion, Pete touched Nathan to officially borrow his power.

You know... aside from Sylar's daddy-saga (I'm not interested, PLUS they're dragging it out way too long, PLUS Luke is annoying), I thought this episode was near-flawless. This was probably their best episode since the season 1 finale. I really hope it wasn't a fluke. :)

Nathan saved Peter. Sorry about that - I was writing the blog from memory and clearly my memory isn't all that any more...

Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something.

Chuck - I also enjoyed this episode.

Good to see the show find a decent plot after flubbing the past two chapters. Papa Piatrelli needs a revisit. The photo of Claire above is awful. I wonder if Dwarfism runs in her family? She looks like she is getting ready to sing and dance "... we represent the Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild...".
