Grey's Anatomy Fodder

Isaiah Washington Cries Racism

From the "you've-got-to-be-kidding-me" files, it seems that Isaiah Washington thinks he was fired from "Grey's Anatomy" because he is black.

Has he not been following his own story -- or is he too busy adding to it?

"Someone heard the booming voice of a black man and got really scared and that was the beginning of the end for me," Washington is telling Newsweek. "My mistake was thinking black people get second chances. I was wrong on all fronts."

Washington also says he is disappointed in ABC and his castmates. I guess he's not disappointed in the media, because they seem to be sticking a microphone in front of his face every two seconds.

Is this guy sticking his foot in his mouth or telling it like it is? Will directors, casting agents, or even retail managers want to come within a 10-foot-pole’s distance of him? I wouldn't hire him. If anything, he seems to be coming off as a royal pain in the ass.

On the other hand, supposedly there's no such thing as bad publicity. My guess is that ratings for "Grey's Anatomy" will fly through the roof come this fall.

ABC is not commenting on anything. Washington will probably be doing that for them soon enough. -- Rachel Cericola
