"Grey's Anatomy" Spin-Off Recast

The sneak peek of the "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off "Private Practice" didn't seem to grab the ratings that ABC expected. Could it be the casting?

Despite the answer, Merrin Dungey is out and Audra McDonald is in, says TVGuide.com's Michael Ausiello.

Apparently Dungey didn't spark on-screen with Kate Walsh, who plays Dr. Addison Montgomery. But she rocked the sidekick role on "Alias" (even in the "evil" episodes)!

No other changes are expected, which makes this Tim Daly fan very happy (that guy needs another hit!).

"Private Practice" premieres this fall, and will air every Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. (EST) on ABC. -- Rachel Cericola
