Glee Fodder

Win a Trip to the Set of "Glee!"

Let the web humiliation begin! Fox and MySpace just announced a karaoke contest to win a visit to the set of "Glee." Contestants need to record themselves singing their favorite songs for the show in order to win. Details below from the official release.

Ironically enough I have not seen an official notice that the back 9 episodes have been picked up by the network although contests like this certainly would lead us to believe that Fox has every intention on picking up the full season and possibly renewing the show in the near future for future seasons to come...

From the official release:

Fans Can Record Videos and Post Their Versions of Songs Featured in GLEE for the Opportunity to a Win a Visit to the Set

Contest Benefits the GRAMMY Foundation’s® “GRAMMY in the Schools®” Programs Offering Music Education to High School Students

FOX and MySpace are inviting aspiring singers, performers and GLEEks nationwide to enter the “GLEE MySpace Karaoke Contest.” Starting today at 3:00 PM PT, fans 14 years of age and older are encouraged to follow in RACHEL BERRY’s footsteps by recording their own interpretations of featured songs from GLEE, including Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab” and Kanye West’s “Gold Digger,” and posting their videos online at The competition ends Wednesday, Sept. 23.

The submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges, and a grand prize winner will be announced on or about Wednesday, Oct. 21. Winners will be selected on the basis of singing ability, entertainment value and appeal. In addition to the grand prize of a trip to Hollywood to visit the set of GLEE, exclusive GLEE merchandise and iTunes Gift Cards will be awarded to runners-up. For complete contest rules, visit

Additionally, for every person who submits an entry, FOX will donate $1 (with a maximum contribution of $10,000) to the GRAMMY Foundation®, a nonprofit organization established in 1989 by The Recording Academy® that offers music education to high school students nationwide through its GRAMMY in the Schools® Programs.
