General Hospital: Skye is Scary

1-9-07
I just realized I’ve been putting 2006 on my blogs lately. Whoops. Happy new year to everyone.

I think that Spinelli and Alice are hilarious. He worships her alter ego, “the dominator”, in which she wrestles at the local civic center. I think that this subplot with the minor characters adds a lot to the show. It’s lightens the mood on all the serious storylines going on. I also love how Tracy calls him Mr. Spumoni.

Jason is convinced that the best thing to do about the legal situation Carly got Sonny into is for Carly to marry Sonny so that she will not be forced to testify. Of course. How many times are we going to see the same thing? Didn’t we already see this same storyline with the same characters? Carly adamantly refuses, but I’m sure she’ll come around.

Alcazar goes into surgery while Skye nervously waits. Alan and Robin assist Patrick. Carly goes to Skye while she’s waiting and wants to come to an understanding. She wants to convince Skye that it was an accident and not to press charges. Skye is not hearing it and tells her that one way or another Sonny is going to pay. She’s turning into a mob wife. I can see glimmers of it coming out. A mysterious person sneaks into Alcazar’s room after Skye goes to be with Lila Rae and injects Alcazar with something. It causes him to go into cardiac arrest.

Sam and Elizabeth argue right there in the hospital. Well, argue probably isn’t the right word. Sam pretty much yelled at her the whole time while Elizabeth repeatedly tells her that she and Jason are just good friends. Who are you fooling Elizabeth? The snooty Ms. Snead walks in on them arguing and tells them she will report them. Of course, Epiphany tells her that she doesn’t have the authority to put any of the union nurses on report. She turns to Sam and tells her that she’s ungrateful for all that she and Elizabeth have done for her. Sam quits. Good riddance. Working at the hospital was one of her worst ideas only topped by working with Ric at the precinct. I think that Sam is losing it. When she walks into the penthouse she calls out for Jason, but he’s still with Carly, and she hurls a glass at the fireplace. When Jason gets home she admits that every time she sees Elizabeth all she can think about is him sleeping with her. Well, isn’t that pretty much the pot calling the kettle black?

Lulu, Spinelli and Dillon discuss the mystery in the Quartermaine’s house. This allows Monica to spy on them while they are talking about Rick Webber’s datebook. Apparently there are several phone numbers without names in it. They looked up Rick’s phone records and saw that one number was called repeatedly the two days before his death. Lulu asks Spinelli if he can trace the number even if it could possibly be disconnected. Tracy catches Monica and walks in on the kids discussion. She kicks out Spinelli and wants to know what is going on. They try to turn it around on her and ask her about Monica and Rick Webber.

I like Spinelli too - at least there's some comic relief. His lines are great and his delivery is hilarious.

I think cool that the writers are giving us a little fun to balance out the drama. :)
