General Hospital: Christmas Comes Early for the Spencers

jason.jpg 11-21-06

Jason wakes up. Elizabeth asks him if he remembers what happened. He remembers her saying something but he’s not sure what. Funny that they go back to the same studio with all of those memories. Carly shows up. The look on Jason’s face was so funny. Like, oh great. Carly gets rid of Elizabeth and warns Jason about making a mistake. I don’t get what Carly has against Elizabeth. Is it just jealousy? I also don’t understand this relationship between Carly and Jason. It seems like friendship with her is more of a headache than it’s worth. She’s so suffocating. Carly tells Jason that when she heard he was alive everything came back and she kissed Sonny.

It’s not looking good for Sam. Especially with Ric gunning for her. He is a good evil man.

Alcazar mourns his son. How sad that he has to mourn his son when he should be happily basking in the glow of his newborn baby. He swears revenge and to make those responsible suffer. Ted King is an intense actor. I really feel sorry for him.

The Spencers plus Nikolas vow to enjoy the time they have left. Laura asks to have one more Christmas with her family. She wants to have Christmas that very night. Lulu is still feeling guilty about keeping her abortion a secret from Laura. Laura finally gets it out of her and tries to console her. It was so good to see Lulu get it out. She’s been carrying around the guilt for a while and acting out because of it. Hopefully this will help her move on.

Spanky! I must have missed this nickname. I thought that was hilarious. Luke cuts down a tree on the Quartermaines property which did not please Tracy. Dillon tries to console her.

Elizabeth gets caught with blood on her dress. After leaving the studio she stops to get a bite to eat. While she’s there Ric talks to her to see how’s she’s doing after her fainting spell earlier. (Can you believe it’s still the same night?) Then Lucky comes in to get as many pumpkin pies as he can for the Spencer’s Christmas celebration. He looks down on her dress and sees the blood. Which of course Ric overhears. She quickly tries to cover and say that it must be red wine that spilled on her when she fainted. I don’t think Ric is gonna fall for that.

I don't get the Carly/Jason friendship either - and I've been watching it from the beginning. I must say though that this is the first Carly that I can tolerate - LW does an amazing job with the role - she's made Carly almost likeable and sympathetic.

As far as her warning Jason off of Elizabeth - I think she was talking about herself/Sonny besides warning him off. She hates Liz - I don't remember why. Besides which Lucky is her cousin so maybe she figures Liz should stay with him especially with the baby on the way - no one knows it's Jason's yet. (Except for them and us!)

Kudos to the writers for two terrific lines yesterday. Both said by Sonny - when he was talking to Jason about Carly and he was saying something about how you decide what you want in life "or what you can live with..." and then something to the effect of "something happens and it messes with your head or else it makes everything perfectly clear.." Great writing and great delivery by MB.

I love when they do some meaty good writing.

I'm with you on Ric not buying the whole wine-on-the-dress routine. Not a chance. He knows Liz has got that loving feeling for Jason - I haven't watched today's episode yet but I'm guessing he's having her followed.

I guess it's all out mob war now with Diego dead but I don't get the writers. That is so not the most interesting part of the show...oh well. Mine is not to reason why - mine is just to watch and - cry? sigh?

Happy Thanksgiving!
