General Hospital Fodder

General Hospital: Alexis Has Another Secret

Ahhh....I have to say a 3 day break from General Hospital was a good thing, indeed. Thought I'd miss it...but nope.
Big things are coming this week and next so I'm holding out hope that it'll shake things up. (Even though I despise one of the upcoming events)

Hmmm...something stinks in surburbia. Alexis nearly hocks up a lung at the PCPD and is then shown at the hospital reading a letter...or maybe test results? Gotta be....esp. with the anvil heavy hint that Carly throws out about "Alexis dropping dead". I didn't see most of last week so I'm not sure what set Ric off about Alexis (other than the argument they had last Tuesday about the missing files) but this is another example of the character being fit to the situation. All of a sudden Alexis is an absentee mother? Gimme a break!

Maxie really is seeking to a new low and she's not even on her knees. She sure doesn't seem to have a problem using Jesse's death when it suits the situation. I can't wait for Liz to find out! Elizabeth needs to find the good ole Lizzie Webber that's been hibernating and open up a can of whoop Maxie. Lucky isn't helping matters. There's a point where you (I) stop feeling sorry for people that don't want to help themselves. I've about reached that point with Lucky. However...he can continue to have sex with whoever he wants if we get to see more nakedness.

Eh...I fast forwarded all of the badass Sonny at the mob meeting. Been there, seen that. I did stop once to check it out and the only thing I liked was the background music. When is Ric gonna learn that Sonny and Jason love each other and nothing will tear them apart. Ric continues to look pathetic...as usual.

I did love the Leslie Lu scene with the birthday card from Leslie. It has me soooo looking forward to November! (and did you hear the rumor about Jonathan Jackson reprising the role of Lucky!?!?!? Not sure what that would mean for Greg. I like looking at Greg more but JJ is Lucky to me and even if its a short term appearance...I want it.

Tomorrow looks interesting.....if for nothing more than watching Maxie reach new lows of skankdom.

Welcome Back!! So - you didn't miss much last week - and Mayor Bloomberg chose 3:00 for some heatwave weather reports so apparently I missed some stuff.

There was some Patrick and Robin stuff with each of them being selfless about the other - actually I'm going to stop now because my recaps are so boring - suffice it to say - you didn't miss anything.

I will say though that I was laughing my a&& off at the Lainey/Sonny scenes. The scenes are more boyfriend/girlfriend vibe and not a professional relationship even though supposedly that's what it was supposed to be - it literally looked like some date scenes last week - what are they thinking???

I also heard that JJ is coming back and I like GV but they're giving him crap scenes and the whole drug thing just isn't working for me. JJ is Lucky to me - haven't felt "Lucky" since he left so I wouldn't mind if he came back but I hate to have GV lose his gig.

I forgot about Liz being a toughie when she first came on. She lost that and I'd love to see her get it back - should be interesting even though I'm not crazy about the storyline.

Patrick has become mulch. I know he's going through s&^t but really - he's all sop all the time and becoming quite boring - in spite of the fact that I love looking at him - most of the time - lately some of his clothes and his hair just aren't happening.

Lulu is absolutely terrific and that was a great scene with the card - I was almost tearing up myself...

On a related yet unrelated topic - I was stuck doing computer type stuff this afternoon and was watching a lot of the soaps in real time and as much as GH has been getting on my nerves I have to say that I like the set-ups there more than some of the others. I'll take hospital and police station over fashion studio or whatever. And for all I snark about the facial surgery on GH - fuggedaboutit! You should see some of the deathmasks on some of these other shows. It made me race right back to Port Charles - I guess they have better plastic surgeons 'cause the hospital is the center of the action in that town!

And - I may start watching some Y&R - apparently one of their characters recently told everyone that he's Jewish and the child of Holocaust Survivors (storylines near and dear to to my heart). The actor himself is Jewish and said that he's had some difficulties because of it - and he's interested in seeing how it plays out. I'm very curious myself. I know Nora on OLTL was Jewish for a bit a while back but I think that's all over now. :-) I never watched the show but I think I'll give it a shot.

Also - (I guess I'm writing to make up for the last few days) I was reading some of those sites you suggested and got an overload of spoilers - I think it's not as much "fun" (relative term these days) knowing what's coming. I like to see that skank Maxie and wonder - "no - no way - it can't be- she can't really be so skanky" and wonder at the chemistry heating up between Ric and Sam.

One thing I don't mind anticipating are the shirtless scenes and it seems some Jason one's are on the way - did you notice how buff he's gotten and how much weight he's lost?

Well - welcome back again. 3 days w/out GH huh? I don't remember the last time I didn't see it for 3 days....

I read about Y&R's story and it does sound intersesting...I used to watch it back in the 80's during the Tracy/Danny/Lauren stuff(when they were in high school and I had a crush on Danny..heh) I'm not sure why I haven't picked it back up. It's one of the last shows that still acts like it knows its a soap. The stories are told as a nice (although sometimes slow)pace and the sets don't look like they out of a "pop up" book.

Hmmm - thanks for the info - I think I'll check it out for a while - I think they have the highest ratings for a long time - maybe it's for the exact reasons you describe! Is this Danny still on it? Still cute? Who are we kidding - it's the only real reason to watch! :-) Have a good one!
