General Hospital: Sonny's Keepers

Ugh. Another day of the same ole same ole CRAP.

It's 'who gets to take care of Sonny' time and his bestest friends in the world have swooped in to take care of him. So what?! And I HATED Jason today. Ric (even though his tactics are wack) hit the nail on the head when he blasted both Carly and Jason for their sweeping Sonny's illness under the rug. He's right...Sonny needs professional help. Jason took everything from Sonny...caused this latest breakdown...and then has the balls to show up wanting to help and blasting Ric for being there when he wouldn't/couldn't. I wanted Ric to spit in Jason's face when he told Ric not to show his face again. I almost gave up on GH before when it was the Sonny/Jason lovefest show and I don't want to go through that crap again. Carly still has her head in the sand. She stil thinks that Jason can somehow cure Sonny. It's stupid..especially considering she's had a stay or two at the local funny farm. Stupid people...hate'um!

I read an interview with Tristan Rogers the other day and he mentioned how much the show has changed. He said something like "the show used to be about being full of hope and now its about losing all hope"...he's so right. This show is so dark and depressing. As I watched the Sam/Lexi scenes, I kept thinking how nice they would be if Sam meant what she was saying. But this show is too dark to give too many feel good scenes so they have to put that sadistic twist to it. Everything Sam said about Jason today is what I've wanted to hear from her....but I want her to mean it. Damn them!

Maxie is up'ing the skank factor and making Robin look like an idiot in the process. That's another problem I have with this show. They write the characters to fit the contrived stories instead of following the character's traits and letting that lead the story. Robin isn't that stupid. Sure she may be disappointed in Patrick and hurt at the moment but she's not so hurt to believe Patrick would do something like that. Contrived bullcrap.

I sooo don't care if/when Dillon/Leslie Lu become a 'thing' or if Dillon/Georgie make up. The only thing I liked was the Tracy/Robert conversation.

Man....I guess this is what's meant by an "uneven show". We go a few days with a pretty decent show and then it goes all crappy and makes me wonder why I even bother. Ratings are falling and there aren't a lot of fan bases jumping for joy. What this show needs is a change in direction...a change in the writers. Or maybe its just me?

It's not just you. I heard they got their lowest numbers yet and with these story lines they aren't going to get new people watching, much less keep the old ones.

Yawn. Snore. More of the same. And more and more.....you're so right about them writing the character's to fit the contrived stories as opposed to really following what these people would do. They seem to have no sense of what the inner lives of the characters might be so everyone is just a cardboard cutout acting out the same stories. Very disappointing - especially when there are some great days and stories and the phhhhhht - it's all gone.

Patrick? He should so kick Robin to the curb - she has become absolutely insufferable - and again - would her character really be behaving this way or do they just need it for another storyline?

FF'd most of it. Aaargh.

Yes - I should have more important things on my mind (is there really anything more important than GH though?) and no - I should not keep clients waiting while I post about GH but hey! - a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do.

I ended up watching yesterday's "episode" and had a different thought about Sonny and Jason. I actually love their scenes together - Jason doesn't seem as wooden and they play off each other very very well. As far as I'm concerned any scene with Jason is a great scene - except when Sam is weeping or being hysterical or gesticulating with that chop-chop motion she has which is supposed to signify....something - actually everything in all scenes.

As for Ric - what suddenly sent him over the deep end there? Is it a sense of how-shall-we-say being inadequate now that his woman is more powerful than him? Is he just a guy who looks for trouble - trouble being right under that white see through dress that's hanging out (literally) on the front porch?

(Alexis???? Have you not noticed that your very well endowed and surgically enhanced new found daughter is running around like that in front of your husband? Or is Mayor Floyd and his sharp suit looking better and better since you're the DA?)

Ric may be right about Sonny needing professional help but Sonny knows what would happen if he were institutionalized - he wouldn't make it out of there. And by the by - with the shrinks in Port Charles there doesn't seem to be any "professional help".

The problem with this storyline is that it's dragging on too long. More of the same, same, same. Over and over and over.

One more thing about Patrick's character - he's just a typical NY (LA?) guy of his status. Successful, moving up the career ladder. The difference is that most of them wouldn't talk so openly about their sexual philosophy to the women they date or to women period. They might be more open about it with their friends but just act it out with women. (These are the guys who make sudden drastic marriage/relationship moves when some life circumstance jolts them out of their state - like having a zero birthday, work difficulties, death in the family - something like that.

Patrick should stop apologizing and start *&^%ing some other girls. Robin - who I used to love - has been SORASED/morphed into someone's grandmother. They should put her with the guy in Alexis' office who had the results of Manny's death - the bald one with the glasses. That's how she's acting now.

(No - my attitudes in these areas are not very popular with my female friends :-) )
