General Hospital Fodder

General Hospital: Busted!

Ok...I'll admit...it's Monday...hot as hell and not exactly in the mood for GH...but I dove in, anyway. Ended up fast forwarding a lot of it.

Some domestic drama with the Liz and Lucky today. It was a bit refreshing to see these two fighting. Too often Liz and Lucky are all hunky dorey....and hunky dorey = boring in the soaps. Could Liz have asked anybody else about getting Lucky help....like maybe Lainey!?! And what a 'ho Maxie is during out to be! That crap about "seeing Liz for who she really is"....wanted to smacked upside the head and then watch those ugly earrings continue to bash her upside the head.

Best part for me? Bad ass Robert Scorpio was on the scene and being mean! None of that Quartermaine craziness today. It was all classic 'get in your face' Robert. Seeing him get in Lorenzo's face was awesome!(and what a face to get in, huh!?!...Lo looking hawt!) I thought it odd (and wondered if its the usual heavy handed foreshadowing) that Robert mentioned Luke. He and Skye hadn't really been in each other's lives for awhile now!?! I'd be happy with a Robert/Skye/Lorenzo triangle....esp. since Anna isn't sticking around, this time. (Not that we'd know she was even back....sheesh!)

I totally fast forwarded all of the Sam/Jason scenes in the elevator...till they got out of there. I knew nothing would be learned...nothing in the relationship would change...and I was right. Waste. of. space. I also fast forwarded all of the Sonny/Carly scenes....stopping in a few spots to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Nope. I don't do fake flashbacks, people.....they are lame! Awwww...Sonny's getting ready to break up with Emily. Too bad....for us. It won't be long till she's dragging Nikolas back into boring land....ugh.

I've mentioned how these writers like to make the characters fit the story...another example today. Kristina needs a shot and Ric can't get in touch with Alexis so he calls Sam. I call bullshit. Are we supposed to just forget everything that Alexis has done for her children? She lives and breaths for her kids. I don't care how busy she is as DA....the core of Alexis is her children. She's moved heaven and earth to protect them before yet we're supposed to beleive she's too busy? Lazy and lame writing sucks.

Eh....for a Monday...I guess it was ok. I've seen worse....but I sure would like to see better. Maybe tomorrow?

Hey Dave! First of all - I owe you another session for the way you saved me (and my nearest and dearest) this weekend - actually they should get you something! I was so upset that I missed GH but your recap and extra recap were life/weekend-savers! I checked out some of the sites you mentioned for the clips but didn't need them so I didn't see it and I was jest fine! Thanks again. Lucky lookin' for a fix ain't nothin' on me if I've missed a good (and they happen so rarely) episode!

Hot like hell here too and I zipped through most of it - first and foremost for the Patrick scenes. Didja notice how in one day he's Mr. Sensitive and knows the right thing to say to Liz? I'm with you on that one - Oh Liiiiiiii-iz - how's about you don't go to the one guy you're husband is freaking out about? How about it hon? How about your grandma who lives in Off-Stage Land? Or Lainey like Dave suggested? Or even boring Emily? Or one of the other doctors? Or Cameron? Anyone but your husband's nemesis?
(By the way - I like Liz - it's the behaviors they give her that are ruining it.)

FF'd the Kristina stuff (is she adorable or what?) but you are so right about that whole thing - Alexis might ever forget. Puh-lease.

Saw a drop of the Jason and Sam stuff mostly to see Jason lookin' fiiiiiiine in that shirt and pants - and of course yawned my way through the whole repeat of "but why? are you going to walk away?" weep.weep.throaty almost-gasp. But I must say that I've been liking Sam better the last couple of weeks. They're putting her in some nice outfits and it's amazing since she has some interests (albeit itty-bitty moments of them) she's a bit more interesting...

Lorenzo, Lorenzo, Lorenzo. My my he did look fine and I like your idea of a Lorenzo/Skye/Robert triangle. Terrific chemistry all around and terrific antagonist chemistry between Robert and Lorenzo. Bring it on!

Maxie is a ho. BJ's heart would break if she knew - ok - I made a crass little-girl-heart-transplant remark. What can I tell you - it's the heat.
Good one about the earrings? What's with all the face-overpowering accessories? She's very cute looking and didn't used to dress like a skank even when she acted like one.

Ok- the Sonny stuff - I haven't watched the whole thing yet - too soon after work to analyze the conversations (busman's holiday I guess) but I did see some of it. "Long Time" has forbidden me to really dish about it here - (you're not the only one with the whole Grassy Knoll thing going on... :-) ) but - I will say that some of the stuff he brings up and Carly/Jason are on point as far as the issues but- the way it's done - who knows what and how - totally off the mark.

As for the fake flashbacks? Sheridan don't go there. Too ridiculous - I find myself trying to conjure up the scene in my mind - which Carly was it? Doesn't LW look stupid in that outfit? And other life-altering questions like that.

Keep cool! Hey did you see Wentworth Miller on the cover of I think it's Details? Or GQ - one of them. Think it's hot here? The newsstand was smokin' from that one! :-)

Dang...hate I missed Sonny discussing Carly/Jason...

Oooh, yeah. Saw Wenty (we're tight like that)last week when I saw mention he was part of a spread. Dude needs to head South...I'll hide(and then seek) his hottie body.

I wasn't clear - Sonny wasn't discussing Carly and Jason - it was the two of them discussing Sonny. Didn't miss much - I ff'd and haven't watched it.

Wenty huh? There was also something about the show in Entertainment Weekly - they are so smart (and wonderful!) that they're starting on 8/21!

Ohmigod I actually watched a couple of seconds of the fake flashback - it was hilarious! One more thing about the Sam/Jason scenes - it follows on your thoughts about the characters doing what the writer's want the story to be instead of anything else...here's the thought -

(actually - my cell phone rang before with the GH ringtone and I just surfed right on over here - this adds a whole new twist to Pavlov's dogs - I guess it would be "GH song" and I go into a GH trance-like state - but I digress...)

if they want Jason and Sam to be in scenes together, which clearly they do, and I understand why - I like them together - just add a new plot twist - SOMETHING - I know those kinds of conversations go on especially because it's this whole "set me free, why don't you babe" thing going on - her frustration knowing that he does love her (forever and ever - yeah - we know) but won't allow himself to be with her-so she can't get past it - BUT WE CAN!

Again - I'm sympathetic to what she's going through but their scenes are starting to feel more like reality tv than soapy suds.

So. That's my other very crucial thought that certainly couldn't wait and needed to be expressed :-) - why I don't know. Perhaps because I could.

Have a good one - I don't remember the previews - I think Sonny dumps Emily today - is it because of her terrible makeup lately? Don't think so because everyone in PC seems to be wearing the same bad stuff...and to nitpick just a drop more - I think Emily got a new expression and tone of voice yesterday. It was slight but much better. Way to go Emily!

I believe at lunch I will run out to the life store and get one. Or at the very least change the ringtone from the GH one - at least when I'm near a computer. These trance states are SCARY!!! :-)

Once again - you thought I was Sheridan when in reality it is
