The peeps behind GH must like to torture us...huh? We go through hell for a few days and then we get a welcome relief in the form of a non Sonny/Carly/Emily day. Or maybe its just that I got to see characters I actually care about....
I swear Robert Scorpio puts a smile on my face in every scene he's in. From his "Don't follow us" to Lorenzo to the father/daughter chat at the hospital.....love it! He is sooo awesome! I didn't like hearing that Anna is out of town. I mean...dang...the woman just got back to town! I wish the idiots in charge would realize that you don't have to be young and buff to be a leading man. Tristan Rogers proves that point wrong with every scene he's in. Long live the Scorpios!!!
I've always loved Tracy for her bitchiness...its who she is to the bone. But I also like that we've been getting to see the softer side of her lately. First her convo with Luke after Justus' funeral and now today with Lu. She's been there, done that and Lu would do well to listen to Tracy. The lil hair flip was a nice touch. Jane Eliot ROCKS! And how soapy for Dillon to first overhear Georgie saying that she told the truth about Diego and then overhearing the truth again while listening to Tracy and Lu talking. Wonder which part makes him feel the dumbest? Believing Lu in the first place or not believing her when she told the truth.
Noah! Always a good day when the elder Drake is in the house. The Patrick/Noah relationship is one of the only real father/son aspects to the show...and I always soak it up when those two are together. I'm not sure its very "Patrick" to give in so easily to what his father wants but if it helps develop the Patrick character I'll let it slide. I'm also hoping this is a chance for Robin to show some growth and let go of the granny thing. I was off the Robin/Patrick train but I could easily jump back on. I'm thinking tomorrow's show will give me a better idea of if things are changing. Let's hope!
My only real UGH for the day comes from the Jason/Sam stuff. We know Guza is notorious for recycling storylines...now it seems he like to recycle in a single show. First Sam and Jason bump into each other on the docks and then again in the PCPD?!?! C'mon now...that's just plain lazy and sad. But so is this whole storyline. I'm tired of it all. I love hearing what Sam is saying to Jason because it shows she's starting to look out for herself...but then I remember its not so much about Sam moving on as it is about her getting revenge. That's sad too...
Looks like tomorrow is back to the same ole crap with a side of Patrick/Robin. Might want to save today's show for watching later. We may have seen the best they have for the week.
....because you're usually funnier. I'm guessing this is some chick, maybe someone's intern? nah. an older chick. conspiracy theory? perhaps. but it's time to fess up that the powers that be scour these boards in search of free screenwriting advice.
-- Posted by: Emily again at July 19, 2006 8:31 PMWha? Not exactly sure what your saying...but I'm not an older chick...I'm a very immature dude with a split personality. Sheridan is actually my therapist.
If TPTB really scour the boards...you'd think the show wouldn't suck as bad as it does.
Sorry if I'm not up to snuff lately...but neither is the show.

Prez of the Grassy Knoll
Mea Culpa dude. I've been a lurker and Sheridan kicks ass. GH on the other hand sucks. big time. So must Carly, since Guza is so, ahem, enamored of her.
-- Posted by: Whiny Emily at July 19, 2006 10:02 PMSpeaking of lurkers - "Long Time" texted me that I've got to check out the latest posts - hey "Long Time" join the party - you know you want to!
Hi Emily and thanks! And Daaaaaaaaave what about our confidentiality? Are you pulling a Sonny-in-therapy-so-the-whole-town-is-talkingaboutit-like-they-might-ever-in-a-small-town? I guess I'm busted - and I was laughing all the way to Jake's as I was reading. Seriously though - if the folks in Port Chuck get to you give me a buzz - I owe you one for these terrific recaps.
In no special order;
I also have heard and think they do scour the online boards for feedback. What they should really do is hire us. Between your take and my understanding of what the character's would/should be doing that show would be off the charts in no time.
Meanwhile - speaking of lurkers I actually checked out the boards of one of the characters - supposedly she writes some journal with her "innermost thoughts" - it's run by the show/studio and seems to be written by Betty White. Yah. Innermost indeed. And I've noticed changes....
Hey Emily - never thought of that with Carly - you figure all four Carlys were Guzanating the Guzanator?
What I liked about today;
Tracey. She's spectacular and the way she was with Lulu was sweet and tough at the same time.
Skye. Love Skye. And how gorgeous does she look 80 months pregnant?
Epiphany. Love the woman. I once had an assistant just like her - sure tells it like it is whether you want to hear it or not.
Jason because I love Jason - when will he take off his shirt like Dillon did and Patrick (but god - my eyes- my eyes - Diego keep your clothes ON - even those "spiffy" shorts - anything please).
Sam's new outfit and look - she looked good but I noticed that as the day went on more and more buttons opened. Noah. Love me my Noah.
Patrick. I have no words for my Patrick love. Where oh where can I get me some? We even have lots in common - even though we approach the brain from different angles. I'm sure JT is a nice guy and all but Patrick's the guy. (Although I do have a mad crush on Craig MacTavish - did you hear that he might be coaching Canada in the next Olympics? Go MacTavish - Speaking of which I'd love to "Craig MacTavish" Patrick - am I actually writing this? It's been a long angst-filled day - that's my only excuse)
But back to Port Charles. What I didn't like;
The fake self-tanner on Robin and Robert Scorpio, their heart-to-heart inappropriate conversation - at the nurses station no less.
Robin being rude beyone belief to Noah about Patrick - honey, he's still his father - you can tone down the amount of times you call him a jerk.
Poor suckered Dillon. Sorry Dillon. Really. But I do think he and Lulu are cute together.
Georgie. Cause she gets on my nerves. Loved Tracey calling her "valedictorian".
The recaps in every sentence in every scene. We know. We know. And if we don't we'll figure it out like we will when we start watching the other soaps we'll be forced to watch if TPTB don't do something fast.
And the biggest quandary I'm having. I used to love Patrick and Robin together but now I really don't. She's not only sanctimonious and judgemental she's rude and nasty and treats him like *&^%$. Maybe he's a guy who likes abuse and pain and all but I don't know. I'm liking him better with just about anyone. Lainey perhaps? Liz? Looks like she and Lucky aren't long for this storyline world. At this point even Carly - at least she treats him well. Alexis? She can get back at Ric if he *&^%'s Sam. Sam is too far gone for Jason. Lulu's too young. Maxie looks like she has communicable diseases and has eyes and drugs only for Lucky. What about Lucas? He left town as soon as he came out to everyone? Maybe he'll make a pass - anyone - at this point but Robin. I could go on - apparently I'm punchy tonight. But I will stop - if only to have something left to write next time.
Robin can have Nik - he's ok. Also a bit uppity and cardboard but they'd make a great uppity ruin-everyone's-lives-busybody couple.
One more thing Dave - amazing that split personality thing - some days your recaps sound completely different than other days. But keep it up - we need you!!!!

I must admit that it was I who wrote all that in Sheridan's name yesterday. She was exhausted and knew not what she was doing. It is I, Meridan, her evil twin who has never been heard from before.....blame it on fatigue - when she gets tired I come out and speak on her behalf. :-) (Do evil twins smile at all?)
-- Posted by: Meridan at July 20, 2006 9:24 AM*gaspity gasp* Evil Twins!?!?!
awww...my poor Rowbin. Cain't(southern for cannot) get no respect...lol... I didn't think she was being rude with Noah. He knows his son can be jerk...he's experienced it first hand. I was a bit skeeved by Robert pushing Robin to have sex...but I also have hopes that Robert really is getting bored and will jump into something more exciting than babysitting Luke's wife and daughter...
Puke alert: July 24th could be the day Lucky does more poppin'...and it ain't pills. Tis Maxie. *gag*
-- Posted by: Dave at July 20, 2006 10:39 AMI am soooooo late but had to check in before I shut my computer and thanks for the laugh!!!!
Lucky poppin' whoa! I'm with you on the skeeved feeling from Robin and Robert's convo - eeeeeeeew!
later!
Dave, are you just one person, or is this a cabal of ABC employees trying to make us all feel like we're part of the Q clan? just curious.
