Johnny Drama will NEVER let the guys live this one down.
Todays announcement from The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences had 'Entourage' scoring big with 7 Emmy nominations while HBO led all the networks with a whopping 86 nominations. The 2007 Emmy Awards will air at 8 PM on Sunday, September 16th on Fox.
Kevin Dillon, who plays Johnny Drama, got his first ever Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a comedy series. The irony of course is that he plays a character that gets absolutely no respect as an actor who lives his life in the shadow of his more famous brother.
'Entourage' was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series also for the first time and you can be sure the cast and crew are gonna be partying this weekend. I'm still waiting for my invite to one of these parties, hello? 'Entourage' will be going up against "The Office", "30 Rock", Two and a Half Men", and "Ugly Betty." Wow, this is going to be a tough race.
Very deservedly, Jeremy Piven who plays superagent Ari Gold, was also nominated for a Outstanding Supporting actor Emmy. The Pivster won it last year and given the fact that his character has nothing but disdain for Johnny Drama, this could mean that his on screen persona will have to eat major crow. Other nominees are Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Rainn Wilson (The Office), and Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men.)
Here is the complete list of 'Entourage" Emmy nominations:

Sheila Jaffe, Casting Director

Creator Doug Ellin said that at the end of last season he consciously wrote a more meaningful storyline for Kevin Dillon in an attempt to specifically garner him an Emmy nomination. Well, it worked Doug! However, a Kevin Dillon win is not a sure thing because when multiple actors on the same show get nominated in the same category than votes are usually split. So we shall see.
Congratulations to everyone on 'Entourage' nominated this year and to everyone else on the show for providing us with an amazing half-hour of quality entertainment. Thank you!
Check out this clip from one of Kevin Dillon's Emmy nominated performances. Enjoy!
Oh yeah, one last word . . . VICTORY!!!!!!

Kill me now if Jon Cryer wins over Kevin Dillon!
These awards shows like to honor people who have paid their dues, like Jeremy Piven last year. On the other hand, it's also who's hot at the moment. So what do I know?
Unfortunately, I think Ugly Betty will win because of all the hype. But I really hope not!
I think this is going to be a difficult one to call.
Any other year, I would say Piven would get it, but since he hasn't had as much screen time this year... I would think Kevin Dillon would get it.
However, it's going to be tough against Rainn Wilson and Neil Patrick Harris. Then again, I could see an upset from Jon Cryer. Who knows!
