Nominations for the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards were recently announced. TV Fodder wishes to extend a hearty congratulations to the cast and crew of My Name is Earl! The nominations are as follows:
* Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series – Beau Bridges as Carl Hickey, Earl's long-suffering father and gerbil-hurler
* Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series – Giovanni Ribisi as Ralph Mariano, Earl's childhood pal, partner-in-crime, and erstwhile stepson
* Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series – Jaime Pressly as Joy Turner, Earl's ex-wife and mother to Earl Jr. and Dodge, neither of whom are Earl's
* Outstanding Single-camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series – Guess Who's Coming Out of Joy – Lance Luckey, Editor and all-around good egg
* Outstanding Single-camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series – The Trial – William Marrinson, Editor and a helluva splice guy
* Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (half-hour) And Animation – Our Cops is On – Peter Kelsey, Re-recording Mixer; Darin Knight, Production Mixer; David Rawlinson, Re-recording Mixer; A finer group of folks I cannot imagine.
As an aside, Earl's third season begins September 27 with a one hour special.
