I apologize for the brief entry. Lots going on and not enough time to do everything.
Adelle's friend, Jocelyn Bashford, is murdered and her persona is put into Echo. Her friend wants to solve her own murder. Apparently, she knew she'd be murdered sooner or later so she had Adelle scan her brain and keep her persona so she can be "reborn."
Langton is missing being Echo's handler and feeling his way through being the new Head of Security. I already miss Reed Diamond.
Echo, as Jocelyn's never seen confidante, Julia, goes to her home to try to figure out who would kill her. Is it her young studly husband? One of her kids? Her deadbeat brother? Or someone else?
Julia finds out she was missed by some, but tolerated by others. Jocelyn's son knows about the Dollhouse (as he was a client of the Manhattan office) and guesses Julia/Echo is really his own mom. Julia is happy she has someone to talk to now and all signs point to her husband, but the tables turn pretty quickly when she realizes it was her son that killed her.
Sadly, Jocelyn can't live forever, as Echo's mind is swept after her murder is solved.
Topher, meanwhile, gets his own doll for the day to run a "system diagnostic." It's really a chance to wind down and have some fun with a his idea of a perfect day - video game play and just plain ol' fun. I guess there are percs with the job.
This was one of the better episodes, IMO.
Next week, Ballard finds the Dollhouse!
