Days of Our Lives: The Mystery Patient Awakens

Chelsea has some problems at the Christmas party. Namely, she keeps thinking of Ford Decker. After she drops Zack's bulb, Hope concludes that she still feels tremendously guilty about Zack and Bo goes outside and they talk about love and family and how he will always be there for her. Except when he disowns her, of course.

Max and Nick have trouble stalling the kids while they wait for Patch to come and tell the wonderful story he tells the kids every year. Kayla finds out that he has been sent off to get Marlena and so tells Max that he's not coming. Max puts on the suit and tells the story to the kids and even somehow manages to get a Tranformers reference in there. I was quite impressed especially given how disappointed I was this last weekend watching the movie.

Marlena goes to pick up John's dry cleaning as she got a call from them and runs into Crystal instead. The winner of this last year's "I Want to be a Soap Star" got this as her role - a psychic. Me, I would feel ripped off. I'd like to at least be a distant and long thought gone Brady, or a DiMera cousin. That's just me. Crystal seems to know a lot about John and seems to indicate that he is still alive. Marlena is beside herself. Soon it is Patch that is beside her and suddenly Crystal is nowhere to be seen.

Everyone has a good time at the party including Alice who wishes Tom a merry Christmas. Nick surprises Chelsea with a DOOL in-show ad for a photo printing service.

Lucas tells Kate that he wasn't drinking and was just emptying a bottle of liquor down the drain. Philip and Billie come and confront them and Lucas tells Billie that she has to do the job she promised to do and Billie understands that he is leaving. Philip is not so understanding and tells him it could be the biggest mistake of his life. When Billie later goes to the party and tells Sami the sad news she runs over to the apartment but it is too late - he's gone.

EJ tells Stefano the sad divorce news and Stefano says that it's not acceptable. He also tells him and shows him how he can now walk. Nice. A little later, Rolf shows Stefano into the lab where apparently all Stefano has to do is stick the patient with a large needle. He does so and the monitor starts up. We see eyes opening and Stefano welcomes the mystery person home.

Is it John? Benjy? Who do you think the patient is?
