Eve's dead - the autopsy report says it was all about the bullets. Oddly, her badge is missing. Tek, who is still not doing mall security as Abe promised, comes in and finds out. It was two bullets at close range. Tek admits that he went off the investigation to meet 'a friend' and Abe gives him a hard time about this. The friend must be Lexie, he speculates. Tek tells them that Sami went over to Lexie's house to threaten her. Why would Lexie threaten Sami, Abe oddly sayd. Lexie wanted to tell the truth but some odd mechanical voice called and threatened Abe and Theo's life. Not Theo Huxtable.
Abe can't believe Lexie wouldn't tell him. He refers to her as a DiMera and Tek snaps and tells Abe not to talk about her like that. Bad move, says John. Tek leaves and Roman comes in to say that they might have found the killer on the surveillance tape. It's Lexie. Surely this can't be so because she is the mother of Theo. Roman suggests that Abe completes the investigation. He should try dating her, they suggest. (which would be weird because the divorce hasn't gone through at all...) They have to at least find out why she was sneaking around the church.
At the pub, Lucas tries to help Austin out. He can't wrap his mind around this and nobody saw this bad boy coming - except for Gloved Hand, of course. Perhaps it was a test, Lucas suggests. Or maybe it had something to do with EJ. Did EJ work his 'English Magic'? Perhaps it was that she thought that he was still in love with Carrie? Nevertheless, Lucas says that he has to tell her that he wants her to be his wife. Lexie comes into the pub and tells Austin this was the best thing that could have happened to him. She almost tells all but stops herself. She insists she is holding nothing back but was referring to how she was blackmailed by Sami. She once again says he should be happy to be rid of her. Nice try, says Lucas, but they will surely get back together today. By today he means sometime in September or early October at latest.
There's a note on the floor in Sami's apartment. A strange figure lurks in her apartment and hovers over her sleeping crying self - she wakes up and screams! Oh, it was only EJ. Sorry for the fright. She had a horrible dream someone was trying to kill her. Someone was trying to chase her with a knife. He says that anyone who tries will have him to deal with. (Somewhere, people are singing 'love is in the air...') EJ offers some tea as originally made by his nanny.
They discuss their childhoods and EJ offers some toast. She can't believe she didn't get married - surely she will be alone forever now. He asks if this is really so and Sami says it is definitely over. She knows it must have been Lexie that made the call. True, but he could think of other people that wouldn't want her to marry Austin - like himself, for one. Surely she needs to be with someone that loves her. Sami asks if that is all. Does she, perhaps, want to know if he is falling for her? She asks if he is falling for her but then sees... the note! Why not read it, they decide - nothing left to take away, right? Wrong. The note says that she must now give custody of Will to Lucas. Sami screams that she won't give up custody. EJ says they will figure a way out of it and get through it *together*. He will be there for her... and of course they kiss. Freeze Frame on the NOTE...

-- Posted by: Vickie at March 17, 2007 1:52 AMIt's actually James Scott who was on All My Children before coming onto Days. How I miss the days when he was the one who really seemed to care about Sami.
