"'Chuck' and 'Life' stand out in a crowded TV landscape because they are smart, well-produced series with incredibly talented casts. Both shows are hitting their stride creatively, have developed loyal audiences and offer unlimited potential to grow throughout the season," said Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios.
This announcement was candy to the ears of the growing "Chuck" fan base which is about 8.4 millions viewers an episode so far this season. This news should come as no surprise however, as NBC is notorious for sticking with their product until the bitter end. "Chuck" has kept NBC competitive on Monday nights and particularly in the 18-49 demographic, where the show has produced its best results to date.
What this means in layman's terms is that NBC will produce at least another nine episodes of "Chuck" this season. It's now crunch time for Josh Schwartz and the rest of the "Chuck" cast. A decent showing and season two of "Chuck" is almost inevitable.
