Jaime Sommers may have finally met her match. After battling terrorists, snipers and an evil cyborg, it appears a writers strike has the power to shut the Bionic Woman down.

The NBC show, starring British actress Michelle Ryan as a bartender who wakes from a near-fatal car crash to find she has cybernetic appendages, has shut down production. According to Entertainment Weekly, the program ran out of scripts because of the writers strike and had to stop filming on November 9. The original plan was to film through December 12.

There’s no news thus far on what this means for the show, though it’s very likely it will go on hiatus once new episodes run out. NBC had yet to pick the show up for an entire season before the Writers Guild of America went on strike two weeks ago. The network will probably release more information about the show’s fate if the strike progresses. --Chris Sardelli
