NBC Scores Big “Bionic” Ratings

Good news cyborg fans! “Bionic Woman” pulled in stellar ratings for its premiere on Wednesday, attracting 13.91 million viewers.

The show, which featured Michelle Ryan as title character Jaime Sommers squaring off against evil cyborg Sarah Corvis, became one of the most watched freshman debuts so far and broke a few records over at NBC. According to Entertainment Weekly, not only did it become NBC’s highest-rated Wednesday series premiere (in the 18-49 demographic) since “The West Wing” in 1999, but it was the network’s highest-rated regularly scheduled program on Wednesday at 9 p.m. since an episode of “Wing” back in 2003.

Here are some other interesting facts about the premiere, according to Variety: it edged out the “Grey’s Anatomy” spin-off “Private Practice” which aired during the same hour on ABC; it actually increased the amount of viewers from its lead-in “Deal or No Deal;” and it attracted a similar amount of men and women. –Chris Sardelli

But isn't the key whether it maintains its audience in future weeks, like a movie that opens with a strong weekend and flops by the next?

I've heard no buzz from anybody on this.
