Praise the Gods! The SciFi Channel announced the development of a prequel to our beloved "Battlestar Galactica."
The spin-off prequel will be born from executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick and writer Remi Aubuchon ("24").
"Caprica" will take place more than fifty years before the events that play out in the "Battlestar Galactica" series. The people of the Twelve Colonies are at peace and living in a society not unlike our own, but where high technology has changed the lives of virtually everyone for the better. Of course, a startling new breakthrough in robotics and artificial intelligence brings about the first living robot - the Cylon. The prequel will tell the story of two families, the Graystones and the Adamas (the family of William and Lee Adama, the leaders of the "Battlestar" Colonial fleet).
Who are these Graystones? I don't recall them even from the original series. Will they appear in the current "Battlestar" series? Will a young (perhaps infant) Adama be featured in the prequel? Will Lee look like his grandfather? All we need is a few hot Adama clan members and we're set! At the very least we may get a dose of Galactica goodness while the show is on break next season. -- Shannon Nolley
I for one think this idea for another BSG series is absurd especially since they "cancelled" thier best show, the show that put them on the television map, Stargate SG-1. The ratings of BSG are not as good as they were last season either. SciFi just does not know what they are doing anymore!!!
