
Another Golden Girl is gone. Rue McClanahan has died at the age of 76.
Zap2It says that McClanahan had a massive stroke and died at approximately 1:00 a.m. on June 3. The actress had a minor stroke earlier this year.
Aside from her infamous role of Blanche Devereaux on The Golden Girls, McClanahan was also a regular on Maude and Mama's Family. According to IMDB, her last acting role was in Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns.
McClanahan's death means that Betty White is now the only surviving member of The Golden Girls. Estelle Getty died in 2008, followed by Bea Arthur last year.
McClanahan was a vegetarian and animal welfare advocate. She was also one of the first celebrity supporters for PETA. She is survived by her sixth husband and one son.
