NBC Cancels "Law & Order"

Now this is a real crime: NBC has cancelled Law & Order.

In case you are keeping track, this is the original Law & Order -- the one that's been on for 20 seasons. The show stars Sam Waterston, Anthony Anderson, Jeremy Sisto, S. Epatha Merkerson, Alana De La Garza, and Linus Roache. The show was created by Dick Wolf, who's also had his hand in Miami Vice, Hill Street Blues, and of course, all of the Law & Order spin-offs.

The show is currently the longest running primetime crime drama in the U.S. It's tied for the longest running drama with Gunsmoke, which also ran for 20 seasons.

MSNBC says that the show's final episode will air on May 24.
