Fall Fodder is a new series highlighting shows we want to check out this fall. Got something you want to see? Drop us a line at editor@tvfodder.com.
We were never huge fans of David Lyons on ER. His character went from super-jerk to super-sap in the matter of a few episodes. Lyons as a presumed-dead superhero might just make us think again about the Australian actor.
Lyons will lose his accent and don The Cape -- a new one-hour drama coming to NBC this fall. His character is Vince Faraday, an honest cop in the middle of a not-so-honest police force. He is blamed for a series of murders and presumed dead, which forces him to leave his family behind, go into hiding, and assume the alter ego of The Cape, his son's favorite superhero.
Sounds like NBC is trying to fill the Heroes void. We're extremely interested, especially since the cast also includes Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and veteran actor Keith David. Also, isn't that Vinnie Jones in the preview (see below)?
The show has been scheduled as a mid-season replacement. Until then, you can get a little tease in the clip below.
