Well, you have to say one thing about HBO: They don't abandon their shows so easily.
While some of the major networks occasionally have an extremely itchy trigger finger, HBO likes to encourage. Take the network's new drama, Treme. The New York Times is reporting that HBO has already picked up the series for a second season -- after one episode.
It's actually not that shocking. Creators David Simon and Eric Overmeyer have earned a bit of clout with the network, after giving them The Wire.
Treme follows New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. It has a incredible cast, which includes Khandi Alexander, Rob Brown, Kim Dickens, John Goodman, Melissa Leo and Steve Zahn.
"We would have picked up this show last week," said HBO president Michael Lombardo. "We've seen the first nine episodes; it's as strong as any show we've seen."
Season 2 of Treme is expected to premiere in spring 2011.
