Everyone seems to want a piece of Ricky Gervais. HBO has just secured its portion, by renewing The Ricky Gervais Show. According to the announcement, new episodes will premiere in 2011.
The show is based on a series of podcasts. However, here they are animated, with the voices of Gervais and longtime collaborators Stephen Merchant and friend Karl Pilkington.
"I am absolutely thrilled to get a second season and continue the partnership with the best channel in the world," said Gervais. "I couldnʼt wait to tell Karl."
Pilkington's response? "Makes no difference to me. I havenʼt seen any money from the first season yet!"
Maybe HBO will deliver that check when season one concludes on May 21. For now, The Ricky Gervais Show airs every Friday at 9:00 p.m. (EST) on HBO. Check out a clip below.
