Boomerang Planning Presidents' Day Smurfs Marathon

Normally when we see 12 hours of blue people living in mushrooms, we think someone may have spiked our drink. However, Boomerang has a better answer: a 12-hour Smurfs marathon.

The network will celebrate with The Smurfs during Presidents' Day weekend, starting Monday, February 15 at 8:00 a.m. (EST) Plan on 12 hours of Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Brainy and the rest of the bunch -- including good old Gargamel and Azrael.

Marathon highlights will include:

• "Sir Hefty" (8:00 a.m.)


• "Three Smurfketeers" (1:00 p.m.)


• "The Haunted Castle" (3:30 p.m.)


• "The Littlest Giant" (6:00 p.m.)

Based on the 1957 Belgian comic strip, The Smurfs cartoon became a regular part of NBC's Saturday morning lineup in 1981. The show aired for a total of nine years.
