Earlier this week, it was announced that Howard Stern sidekick Artie Lange was hospitalized. As far as we know, the comedian is still being treated, for an undisclosed ailment.
Apparently though, the show must go on. Two days after the news, Comedy Central issued a press release stating that Lange's stand-up special, Artie Lange: Jack and Coke, will air later this month. There's a lot of speculation that the comedian is in the hospital due to his drug use. Sort of seems like weird timing, no?
Lange has had some very public problems with weight and drugs. He even chronicled a lot of his struggles in his best-selling memoir, Too Fat to Fish. Lange's other credits include MADtv, as well as the films Elf, Old School, and Beer League.
Artie Lange: Jack and Coke will debut Saturday, January 23 at 11:00 p.m. (EST) on Comedy Central.
