ABC Renews Wednesday Lineup

We aren't surprised by this news: ABC has renewed its Wednesday night comedy lineup. The Hollywood Reporter says that The Middle, Modern Family and Cougar Town are each getting a second season.

The network got rid of the night's weakest performer, Hank, early in the season. The Kelsey Grammar sitcom was cancelled after just five episodes.

His former Back to You costar, Patricia Heaton, has faired much better. Her comedy, The Middle, has done very well. Another high-profile female, former Friends star Courteney Cox, headlines Cougar Town.

Modern Family, however, has done the best so far, getting the best ratings of the night, as well as critical acclaim for the network.

ABC has yet to make a decision on two other poor-performing favorites, Scrubs and Better Off Ted.
