New Year's Plan #1: Watch Fuse Top 40

One of my fondest childhood memories is New Year's Eve. Sure, I watched the ball drop, but the hours prior to that were spent glued to MTV's video countdown.

Since I haven't seen videos on MTV in a while, it's nice to see Fuse picking up the slack. The cable net says it will re-air its Top 40 of '09 special, starting this Thursday.

Expect to see Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Kelly Clarkson, Paramore, Metallica and many of the other musical acts that made headlines this year. If you don't like the selections, you only have yourself to blame; everything was picked by the viewers.

In between the music, expect a recap of other moments, including Michael Jackson mania, Britney's big return, Twilight and a ton of Twitter feedback.

Toure' and Allison Hagendorf will host the Top 40 of '09: The Year in Music marathon, starting Thursday, December 31 at 12:00 p.m. (EST). It will air all the way into 2010.
