TNT Picks Up "Southland"

After about a week of wondering, the deal is done. TNT just announced that they will pick up Southland.

NBC cancelled the critically acclaimed last month, before its anticipated second season. The deal between TNT and Warner Bros. TV will give the cable net all six episodes that were shot for the second season, as well as the seven episodes from season one. There's no word on whether the show will continue after that.

The cop show stars Michael Cudlitz, Ben McKenzie, Regina King, Tom Everett Scott and Shawn Hatosy.

"This is a great win for fans of Southland and a perfect opportunity to introduce the series to new viewers," said Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks. "It's also another outstanding example of how TNT has established itself as the go-to place for the best dramas on television."

If you missed an episode the first time around, TNT plans to kick things off from the beginning. The very first episode will air on January 12. Southland will then air every Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. (EST)
