Disney Kicks Off Christmas DVDs

In case you haven't been inside a retail store lately, Christmas is coming. That means a flood of Yuletide treats as far as TV is concerned. Instead of cluttering the DVR, many are coming to DVD. We got a peek at Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse. It's not exactly a Christmas classic, but is a nice little diversion during the holiday season.

Mickey, Goofy and Donald own a nightclub (why not?). However, instead of serving up drinks, they've got a buffet of Christmas classics. The 65-minute DVD includes "Donald on Ice," "Pluto and the Christmas Tree," "The Nutcracker" and "Mickey's Christmas Carol."

It's not exactly a greatest hits compilation, but it does bring over 35 different Disney characters under one title. We spotted Belle and the Beast, Cinderella, Timon and Pumbaa, Kuzco, Pinocchio, Pooh and Piglet, and so many others.

If you're sour on the new computerized Mickey Mouse, this one looks a little more like the older cartoons. Don't expect the same animation that you'd get in the theatrical releases. However, it's not the CGI stuff either. The animation isn't all that great, but it's not going to matter to the little ones. It's Disney and it's Christmas.

There are also a few extras on the disc. Those include the first episode of House of Mouse, as well as a short on sound effects and sing-alongs for "Deck the Halls" and "Sleigh Ride."

Scrooge McDuck may hate this one, but anyone with kids might want to take a peek. Some of the cartoons are frantic, but it has a nice message. Isn't that what Christmas is about? Well, that and DVD sales. Stuff your stocking with this one for $26.99.
