There's a lot of drama revolving around Melrose Place -- and it has nothing to do with anyone's plotline. Only two months into its freshman season, cast members Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield have been let go.
According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, the show's producers want to shake things up and possibly pick up the poor ratings. Also, they want to move in Heather Locklear's Amanda and several other new characters, to create "a lighter, more fun vibe."
Can this fix Melrose 2.0? Locklear made magic once. If she can't fix it, we don't have much hope for the rest of the cast.
Simpson and Egglesfield will be in episodes into January. Those episodes can be seen every Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. (EST) on The CW.
