Emmy Announcements Coming in July

Everyone is wondering whether or not "How I Met Your Mother" will finally score the Emmy for Best Comedy. Well, one thing at a time, people.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences just announced that the Emmy nominations will be coming on Thursday, July 16. First they have to get nominated, you know? We will get those lists up as soon as we can, but don't expect breaking news at 5:30 a.m. (PST) out of this blogger.

Chandra Wilson ("Grey's Anatomy") and Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory") will be rolling out of bed to make the announcements.

Anyone special you want to see make the nominations list this year? I'm guessing there will be very few surprises.

As the TV Guy already noted, the ceremony will air earlier than we expected. The move is to keep the glamour from clashing with an NFL doubleheader. The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards will air live on September 13 at 8:00 p.m. (EST) on CBS. -- Rachel Cericola
