Bea Arthur Dies

Bea Arthur, the husky-voiced actress best known for her long-term TV roles, has died. She was 86.

The actress spent six seasons as the outspoken "Maude," for which she snagged an Emmy. In 1985, Arthur signed on for "The Golden Girls." In the show's seven seasons, it won a total of 10 Emmys, with Arthur getting another prize.

According to IMDB, her most recent acting role was a 2005 appearance on "Curb Your Enthusiasm." If you haven't seen it, check out Arthur's appearance in 2005's "Comedy Central Roast of Pamela Anderson" below (warning: It's a bit raunchy!). She's still got the great timing.

According to Time, Arthur died of cancer on Saturday. She would have turned 87 on May 13. -- Rachel Cericola

I was very surprized to hear of Bea Arthurs death. I didn't know she was that old. I watch re-runs of the Golden Girls almost everynight. Now there are only 2 survivors left. I certainly hope that Betty White and Rue attend the funeral as not one of them attended Estelle Gettys funeral. May she rest in peace, she was one funny lady

I'm 17, a male, and I'm absolutely in love with "The Golden Girls!" Ever since, the middle of the year (2009), I have been watching, and recording episodes of "The Golden Girls" nonstop! I guess, you can say, I'm obsessed with them! I also, received, the first, and the second season, of "The Golden Girls" for christmas this year! I'm so touched by the passion, and the ability of these four wonderful ladies! Bea Arthur, will be truly missed, as well will be Estelle Getty! This spectacular sitcom, will never be forgotten! All of the laughs, and fun times these ladies spent together, surly touched my heart! To start seeing them pass, in a true burden! I will never forget, this wonderful show. Although, the show stopped the year I was born, it will live on forever, as will their memories.
