MTV loves funnymen. To carry on the tradition of keeping your short-attention span focused on their awards shows, they have tapped Andy Samberg to host the 2009 MTV Movie Awards.
Samberg is yet another "Saturday Night Live" vet to take the reins of the show. Previous hosts include Eddie Murphy, Jimmy Fallon, Jon Lovitz, Dennis Miller and Mike Myers. Hopefully he will inject a few digital shorts (or at least some Justin Timberlake appearances) into the show.
Aside from "SNL," Samberg will be seen next on the big screen in the Paul Rudd/Jason Segal comedy, "I Love You Man."
The 2009 MTV Movie Awards will air Sunday, May 31 on MTV. -- Rachel Cericola
