I'm already getting excited for Conan O'Brien's big debut on "The Tonight Show." Not only will I start getting a full night's sleep, but the comedian also says that he will be bringing former sidekick Andy Richter with him.
NBC just announced that Richter will fill the Ed McMahon seat, as Conan's new announcer. Naturally, he will also pop up in sketch pieces as well.
Richter was Conan's original "Late Night" sidekick. He left the show in 2000, and has since popped up in various TV appearances. He also had a few of his own shows, with the most recent effort being 2007's "Andy Barker, P.I."
"Andy is one of the funniest people I know and we've maintained a close friendship since he left 'Late Night'," said O'Brien. "We have a proven chemistry that will be an incredible asset to 'The Tonight Show.' I'm looking forward to working with Andy on a daily basis again, particularly since he owes me $300."
