A few years back, the name Hilary Duff and the words "Barely Legal" would have made many network execs cringe. Now it sounds like the perfect addition to NBC's primetime lineup.
Zap2it says that the singer/starlet has signed on to star in "Barely Legal," a new legal sitcom for NBC.
Duff first signed a development deal with the network last year. The role is based on the true story of Kathleen Holtz, who passed the bar at the tender age of 18. We're assuming the names will change, but Duff will take on the Holtz role.
There's no word on when the show might make it to pilot. However, actor Rob Morrow ("Numb3rs," "Northern Exposure") will serve as executive producer. -- Rachel Cericola
