"One Tree Hill" Creator Scoping Out "Melrose"

Mark-Schwahn.jpgIt looks as though "Melrose Place" might have its first occupant.

"One Tree Hill" creator Mark Schwahn is being wooed to write the new version of the '90s drama. Like The CW's "90210," the show will be more like a spinoff than a remake. In other words, old characters may pop up, but no one will directly fill Amanda Woodward's extremely high-heeled shoes.

As of now, none of the former cast members have signed on for roles or even a cameo.

According to Buddy TV, if "Melrose" makes it into The CW's lineup, that does not mean Schwahn will be a permanent resident. For now, he is still committed to WBTV for "One Tree Hill," which is waiting on a seventh season pickup. -- Rachel Cericola
