No "ER" for Julianna Margulies

Julianna-Margulies.jpgPerhaps following in the footsteps of her "ER" counterpart George Clooney, actress Julianna Margulies says she has no intentions of returning to her roots.

Margulies says that she was offered a guest-starring role on the final season of "ER," but thinks her character already ended on a high note. "I feel like I left Carol Hathaway in the best scenario possible," says Margulies (via the AP). "I can't imagine making it any better than that."

With other actors making a return to the show's final season, that just seems, well... lame. Anthony Edwards just gave the show its best ratings of the season (not to mention its best episode). They didn't get the same ink, but Laura Innes, Paul McCrane, and Abraham Benrubi also appeared in last week's episode -- and were great! Eriq La Salle even made a touching intro dedicated to creator Michael Crichton's memory. He is expected to make another appearance, as well as Noah Wyle.

Of course, everyone is still wondering about Clooney. If he does manage to appear, would Margulies change her mind? Would Doug and Carol still be going strong? That would be a very special "ER" indeed.

Margulies spent six seasons on the infamous hospital drama. "ER" is currently in its 15th and final season on NBC. -- Rachel Cericola
