It looks like "Knight Rider" has gotten a tune-up. NBC's freshman drama isn't revving up audiences as expected, so the show is cutting three of its stars.
Reuters says that Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Yancey Arias and Bruce Davison will not appear beyond the show's original 13-episode order. Also, the show is going to steer in a not-so-new direction to make it more like the '80s original. Don't expect any additional chest hair, but the show wants to capture more of the original's spirit. You know, the spirit of a man and his talking car.
Stars Justin Bruening, Deanna Russo, Paul Campbell and Smith Cho are expected to stay on. There could also be some special guest stars stopping by.
The new and improved "Knight Rider" will make its big debut with a two-part episode. The rumor is that the first part will follow the Super Bowl in January. -- Rachel Cericola
