"Cougar Town" Welcomes Courteney Cox

ccox.jpgProving that one human can never have too much money, Courteney Cox Arquette is taking a role in ABC's "Cougar Town."

Granted, the show is being developed by "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence, but c'mon -- "Cougar Town?" That name's got to go!

Cox (or Arquette, if you prefer) will star as a 40-year-old single mom with a 17-year-old. According to Reuters, some of the show is based on Lawrence's wife/actress Christa Miller, who also might appear.

Lawrence first worked with Cox as a writer on "Friends." The actress also recently shot a 3-episode guest-starring role for the upcoming season of "Scrubs."

There's no word on when "Cougar Town" will show its claws. Until then, Lawrence is still busy with "Scrubs," which will make its ABC debut in 2009. -- Rachel Cericola

Courteney is a fox!!! I loved her in “Friends” and I can hardly wait to see her in this new series. I read here ( about her secret diet and workout routine which help her look so amazing and, wow, talk about hard work after 40.
