Jada Pinkett Back on Small Screen

Jada-Pinkett-Smith.jpgJada Pinkett Smith is the next actress to take control of a cable drama.

The actress and wife of Will Smith will soon star in TNT's "Time Heals," says Reuters. Pinkett Smith will play a single mother, who is also the director of nursing at North Carolina's Charlotte Mercy Hospital. She will also get an executive producer credit.

TNT is a big fan of the strong female. Krya Sedgwick currently headlines "The Closer" and Holly Hunter has "Saving Grace" on the same network.

Pinkett Smith's last regular TV role was NBC's "A Different World." She is currently starring opposite Meg Ryan, Bette Midler, Annette Bening and a slew of other actresses in "The Women." -- Rachel Cericola
